I teach children as young as 3 years old, all the way to adults to 93, beginning through advanced levels. I am one of the few teachers that is experienced with teaching piano lessons to three-year-olds. I am also experienced with teaching advanced repertoire, and work with many elementary school, middle school, high school, and retired individuals.
Have you ever wondered exactly what your monthly tuition buys? Most parents aren't sure exactly what the tuition covers. Private music instruction seems expensive, but lesson fees include much more than my music expertise and your actual lesson time. Time spent preparing lessons, evaluating new music, and studying the most current interpretations and editions.

I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from Noreen. I started lessons at the age of 43, and after taking piano lessons for almost 4 years elsewhere and moving to the Torrance area, it was recommended to me to check out Noreen's studio. Wow! All I can say is that my playing has drastically changed since then. Noreen taught me so many new things that I had never considered, thought of, or was taught before. Noreen is by far the most knowledgeable teacher I have worked with. You'll get much more than just a piano lesson. I'm impressed by all the opportunities that she provides for young children learning piano, opportunities that not only teach them piano, but skills that will also lead them to success and happiness later in life. Noreen has many students that stick with her up until they graduate high school.

If you are considering lessons for your children and want to start out the right way, then Wenjen Studios is the place to be. In addition to lessons, Noreen provides monthly workshops in her home (with food!) to all students and their families. This is a great opportunity to learn performance skills and to socialize with other students. On the competitive side, she works with her students to perform in competitions and exams, all of which do extremely well. Additionally, she recently started the Stars Music Service League, an opportunity to for her students to give back to the community. All of this is a testament to Noreen's amazing teaching and compassion for helping students to reach their highest potential. Thank you, Noreen!

Mrs. Noreen is by far the BEST piano teacher you will be able to find who will provide the HIGHEST quality piano training. Having been her student for nearly 12 years, she has thoroughly exceeded all expectations and pushed me to continue to reach new heights with every accomplishment. Not only is she able to effectively teach students of all ages the technicalities of playing piano, the music theory that informs composition, and how to evoke emotion through execution, but she encourages all students to compete at competitions of all levels and additionally take part in monthly recitals so they get used to performing in front of crowds.

This shows her true commitment to the learning of her students. At the same time, she is extremely personable and someone her students can always rely on for support or advice. I can personally call her a lifelong friend and know that she will continue to extend her warmth and generosity to other future students as well. Her love for music and kind heart inspire students to grow an intrinsic motivation to learn and practice further, a quality that is especially unique to Mrs. Noreen. All in all, I highly recommend Mrs. Noreen. Any piano student of any age would be lucky to learn from her!

My daughter started studying piano with Ms. Noreen about two years ago. Over the years, we have tried a few different studios and many different music teachers, so I can very confidently say that our experience with Ms. Noreen and her studio have been above and beyond our expectations. Studying with Wenjen Piano is like being part of a piano family. Lessons, workshops and most of the recitals take place in her home studio (so leave your shoes at the front door and wash your hands before entering!) Parents are welcome to sit comfortably in the living room during lessons and sip hot tea. Families get to know each other over refreshments in the backyard after the monthly workshops and recitals. Ms. Noreen is very sweet, yet structured (kids are constantly preparing music for their workshops, performances, leveled exams and competitions). Ms. Noreen has that unique gift of getting the kids to work toward their goals without them stressing about it.

She always provides feedback to parents after lessons and workshops, which is also very helpful. My daughter's self confidence in her music has improved over the past year, and I really think that Ms. Noreen's methods have contributed to her successes. Get on her wait list now. It takes about two years, but she is worth it!

Ms. Noreen is terrific. She hosted another virtual piano workshop yesterday for her students. Since the pandemic, we have been really impressed by how she has continued to run her studio - lessons and workshops - without missing a beat. Her interest in and use of technology in teaching has really paid off; she has provided a much more seamless and consistent learning experience than the public schools which are still struggling to even determine what platform they will use for on line lessons (to the extent they offered them!) Ms. Noreen's flexibility, energy and appreciation for where each student is at, not to mention her talent as a pianist, make her a phenomenal teacher.

We are so grateful for the years that she spent with our daughters giving them a music foundation that will last a lifetime, as well as encouragement and advice on the practical matters of life. They are better and more observant humans for it.

Hands down the BEST piano teacher who will provide you with the HIGHEST quality piano training anyone has to offer. I personally was a student in this piano studio for nearly 12 years, and I was able to grow tremendously under Ms. Noreen. She is not only one of the kindest individuals I have ever met and a lifelong friend, but she is also exceptionally musically talented and has the talent of both teaching her students technical expertise while also inspiring them to learn out of intrinsic excitement.

She pushes her students to compete in competitions of all levels, even from a young age, and she is a life coach as well. I have only praise for Ms. Noreen and strongly recommend you to join her piano studio!

I had been part of Wenjen Piano studios for more than 12 years before leaving for college; I practically grew up there. These were easily the best years of my life. The hardest part of learning the piano is always practicing and it was no different for me. However, as I got older and especially once I reached high school I enjoyed the time I spent practicing the piano and it was definitely much better than doing homework for school.

The monthly workshops that Ms. Noreen holds are great incentives for children not only to practice their pieces but to get exposure to performing in front of other people. Studio workshops were a safe and fun space to learn to perform in front of others as well as learn to make mistakes. These skills also translated into all other areas of my life such as school and other sports that I did.

Learning piano also taught me self-discipline, work ethic, perseverance, and how to set goals. All these skills transferred to my school work as well as all areas of my life. I was able to balance playing piano competitively, many AP/honors classes, figure skating competitively, and marching band because of the way I learned to work while practicing the piano.

For students, learning how to play the piano and going from simple pieces to extremely advanced repertoire provides them with a sense of accomplishment. Seeing that with hard work and perseverance a student can play almost any piece of music is greatly encouraging. I am so grateful to have been able to study with Ms. Noreen for all the years I learned piano.

She provided me with a solid technical foundation as well as a foundation in music theory. She supported us in everything we did from the pieces we played to the other activities we did outside of piano. She is extremely easy going and understands when we could not put in as much practice as we should have due to our busy schedules. She never made us feel guilty for not practicing but instead, encouraged us to keep working at our pieces.

She helped us "buckle down" when we really needed it, but most importantly she fostered a love of music for all her students. I think that having an appreciation and love for music is the most valuable take-away a student can get from years of piano lessons. Ms. Noreen is highly flexible and even offers online Skype/Facetime lessons when you perhaps cannot make it to the studio.

Every year for the last workshop we, along with her help, write bios about ourselves and our accomplishments that year. We continue to add on to the bio every and by the time you apply for college or need it for an internship, it is right there with all the years and details. Lastly, Ms. Noreen was extremely supportive and encouraging when I was applying to colleges.

Currently I am in my second year at UC San Diego with a major in Bioengineering: Biosystems and a minor in Music. The abilities that I have gained from piano lessons continue to influence and help me today. In high school I graduated top 1% of my class and in university I was accepted into Tau Beta Pi - one of the oldest engineering honors societies - for ranking in the top of my class. I honestly miss going to piano lessons every week and the friends that I made at Wenjen Piano Studios. Those 12+ years were some of the best in my life.
