For the most part this provider works ok. It's the only internet available in my complex, yet as an internet provider has no way to pay bills online, and twice a week around midnight my service shuts off. Wonderful people run the store but one would think i could pay my bill online to a place that provides internet service. Furthermore, I would like to hope they quit throttling data speeds and give people what they pay for. It's kind of bad they have a monopoly on internet in some places, but yet can't provide proper service.

Customer service is amazing and the price is pretty good by comparison. The downside for me is that the connection in my building is not always stable and being an online student at this time, one can see how that affects me negatively. We also use a streaming device for TV. In these modern times, internet/WiFi are pretty important! However, anytime I have questions they are quick to help! And service is never down for too long.

Cactus has been on the Palouse longer than I have. I have bought a lot from them over the years from software to hardware. In this case, I bought a mesh router system in 2006. A power surge wiped the settings out of one of the units. I took the system into the store and they reset it on the spot for a nominal charge. You just can't beat their knowledge of networking of all types, from cable to wireless. We are lucky to have them in our area.

Cactus is the only internet provider to my apartment building so we are stuck. After having many other internet providers through out my life I can positively say that they have been the worst by far. The internet is the slowest, most unreliable service I have ever had. We have had problems with the customer service since day one. After a strain of the internet going out completely we were told by them that if we needed internet than we "Need to go somewhere other than our apartment and get it." If you can do anything about it then choose any other internet provider besides Cactus Computer. You will be much better off.

Cactus Internet is the only internet provider for my apartment complex and while I have only been using their service for a few weeks, so far it seems to be of good quality. Both download and upload speeds are fast and so far I haven't had any issues being disconnected. I often have multiple users at a time connected all while streaming Netflix or Hulu with no issues.
The only downside is the pricing, my previous provider was about $15.00 cheaper for the same megabits per second. That being said, I understand Cactus is a small business and I don't mind paying extra to support a small business.

Cactus Internet has been nothing but helpful anytime we have needed help. They have sent a technician same day to have any problems resolved and also call back any time we needed, even after hours. When we did have a small outage they let us use there office and computers to get done what we needed. They are outstanding when it comes to customer service.
The internet speed we have works great for all of our needs and we have not had any issues with speeds. The prices are great for what is provided and the staff is very professional and friendly. I highly recommend them, there are not contracts and your speed can be changed up or down anytime that you want.

Just an FYI. Cactus Computers does NOT repair computers even though YELP says it does. Might want to remove the phrase "Computer Repair" from the description as I wasted my lunch hour getting downtown and finding a place to park, walking 4 blocks to get to the store and then was told they do not repair computers. Just a heads up for the next person needing computer repair.

I needed a high-speed internet upload to submit some large commercial drone videos. Monica at Cactus was most helpful. They have the fastest wifi upload of anywhere in Moscow. What would have taken 4 days to upload at my home internet took a little over one hour at Cactus. So grateful for this fast, reasonably priced, professional service. Will definitely use again.

Great people. Friendly, helpful, prompt. Happy to support a local business. They cannot provide internet service to everyone in the community because their service is line-of-sight. They explain that up front. I have had Cactus email service 20 years, internet when available, in-store assistance, computer purchases, software problem-solving. I highly recommend them.

Posting on behalf of my daughter, a student at WSU/Pullman. We went with Cactus, since it was already hardwired into the apartment she moved in to. I was leery at first, leaning towards one of the big name providers who are able to offer 24 hr assistance. We took a chance on Cactus and haven't been disappointed. She has only had one outage (which unfortunately occurred at the worst possible time during finals week) in her year of service.
They credited her account with no arguing. Service is fast compared to the service I have in Bellevue. Mine in Bellevue is constantly going down, but hers keeps motoring along. Billing is simple - just one fee. No extra fees constantly being added on for federal usage tax, etc. Take a chance on Cactus!

Cactus is amazing. Far and away my favorite local ISP. It's run by a small group of people who offer real, actual support. As in, pick up the phone, have it answered on the second ring, and have your internet fixed in 5-minutes. We've had their wireless service both at our home north of town, and my wife's business in town, for 2-years now, and both locations have gotten excellent service.
I think I've had three outages in that time, and all of them have been resolved in less than 20 minutes. Their downtown store is also great, and on some components (networking cables, routers, etc.) competitively priced with much larger online competitors. The only downside is the limitation of the speed of their network. We have their 6mbit service (the fastest available).
The great part is that (unlike Time Warner and other larger providers), when we run a speed test, it's typically at or over the 6mbit speed we're paying for. The less great part is that 6mbit isn't really that fast. Barely fast enough for Nextflix and other streaming, and pretty slow for downloading large files. I've heard rumors that they're planning to upgrade their network soon to enable higher speed connections, and I very sincerely hope they're true. Still, when you remember that you live in the middle of a wheat field in Idaho, 5-miles from the nearest town, in a place that can't get service from either Time Warner or Frontier (not that you'd want it) you count your lucky stars for an ISP like Cactus that gives you good, dependable internet service.

We've had cactus DSL at my husbands downtown Moscow office and our home, for several years, we wanted to 'buy local.'their tech support is nil, their have no Saturday hours, they don't open until 9am m-f, I've called several times, left messages and never received a return call, if their network goes down on a weekday after 5:30pm, no one is monitoring systems until 9am the following day, voice mails go unanswered. their latest outage occurred in Feb 2014, they posted info on their web page that the outage would be fixed after they received parts needed for their back up server to be operational. what kind of company doesn't have a back up server ready to go in case of an outage? the parts wound up being sent to the wrong location and we were out of service for 4 days.
They deducted the 4 days from the following billing cycle due to the outage. Last evening, their service went down again, it was 7pm, continued phone calls to their local and 800# returned messages that the # was unreachable, I wasn't able to leave a voice mail. Their service was restored the following morning, around 10am, no explanation of what happened when I called and finally spoke to a technician. We're switching to Frontier next week. Cactus charged $50 a mo for 3 Mbit/s, Frontier will cost us $30 per mo. for 7 Mbit/s for the first 2 years.
We are positive Frontier will provide better customer service, we tried staying local, and we would have continued if cactus had improved at all over the years, but they have not.

I'm reviewing their DSL service for apartments wired for it. Their customer service is very impressive. They were willing to set up my internet service on a Saturday evening when I first moved in. They have been really helpful whenever I have a problem with my internet service, even if they didn't cause it. When trying to install a wireless router messed up my connection, they were able to help me get the connection and the router working much better than the manufacturer of the router. They have always been friendly and patient. Their prices for DSL service are very reasonable, and you have a choice of two speeds.
