Founded in 1996, Axis Music Academy is Michigan's premier source for music education. We offer private music lessons and classes in our academies (located in West Bloomfield and downtown Birmingham) or in the comfort of your own home. We teach all instruments, all ages, and all skill levels. Axis will develop a customized curriculum for each student enrolled, as no two people learn in the same way.Day, evening, and weekend music lessons are available all year long to begin or advance your musical journey.

Services

If your child falls outside of camp requirements, contact us to see if we can work around it. Are you ready to rock? Intermediate and advanced students are encouraged to join us for a one week camp where students will learn to perform songs as a tight-knit unit. We are looking for guitarists, bass players, keyboardists, drummers and vocalists.
This program is designed for pre-school children and focuses on introducing them to basic music concepts and multiple instruments in order to create curiosity and discover their interests. Each week consists of introducing a new concept using instruments such as shakers, keyboards and drums through fun games and activities.

Our experience at Axis has been wonderful from the start. My daughter's instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and really know how to connect to her and show her how fun and engaging learning music can be. I can't say enough good things about Axis, from the staff, to the feeling of the place itself. We would highly recommend!

Great place for my 6 year old son to learn how to play piano. He's been there for about 6 months now and absolutely loves it. He's looking forward to playing in the showcase in February 2022. Everyone we have met has been wonderful and kind. Daniel gives my son songs that he is excited to play and will go out of his way to rewrite the notes to fit my sons level. And now my 6 year old is playing Beatles music. He amazes me!

We love Axis Music Academy - West Bloomfield. The center is modern and welcoming. The staff is top notch and also very welcoming. Always smiling. My daughter sees Izzy for guitar. She is simply delightful. My daughter started at Axis a few months ago holding her guitar on the wrong side of her body. Now she plays some simple Imagine Dragons songs.
She is teaching her grandpa how to play the guitar, too. It's just been a wonderful experience all around. They also provide experiences for students at all levels to perform out in public. I host An Auction to End MS and have been amazed by the talent and/or professionalism of each student performing at the auction. Some are just starting out, but they still get out there and perform. Amazing. I really just cannot say enough about Axis Music Academy.

I took vocal lessons with Kelly, and guitar with Daniel. They were both way beyond my expectations. Daniel is a musical genius and was able to explain things in a way that even I could understand, and gave tons of helpful tools for me to take home. Kelly was also so fun to be around and made me so much more comfortable singing. She knew exactly what I needed to work on to improve my voice. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for incredible teachers.

My boys started taking piano and guitar lessons about 1 month ago and they are so happy with their instructors Nathan and Chris, and also with the Academy! The place is modern and cozy and the staff is incredible. The boys feel very comfortable and we are also happy to see that they are looking forward to each class.

Axis Music Academy takes piano lessons to the next level, making it an incredibly fun and rewarding experience for our kids! The staff is professional and courteous. Chris is an energetic, kind and really dynamic instructor with a clear passion for teaching and sharing his love of music with his students. I'm 21 and have just found my passion for music. I wanted to start by learning piano, and move to vocal, songwriting and recording lessons. I found Axis on google after going to another music school that only had group lessons and didn't fit my needs. They have so many different musical lessons you can take. If you want to learn it, chances are Axis teaches it. Mike is an awesome staff member there who helped me get scheduled and find an awesome instructor to work with. Jay, my instructor, is very passionate and knowledgeable about music and you can tell really loves teaching. I'm excited to begin my music career at Axis and can't wait to learn even more!
