These skills are also vital for someone who wants to create their own music with full artistic control over how things will sound- to monetize yourself on the web, and take your show on the road.

Our training is designed to accommodate students from a wide variety of backgrounds - musician or non-musician, those who already own a project studio or those who have never been in a studio before.
Services
Recording Workshop's programs are expertly designed to cover the wide range of skills and knowledge involved in audio recording and music production. Digital workstation and analog console operation, microphone selection and placement, tracking session setup and workflow, vocal comp and tuning, drum editing, post-production, mixing, re-mixing, mastering, sound design, restoration - these are just some of the studio skills learned by Recording Workshop students. Music business practices, live sound reinforcement, studio acoustics and design - are a few of the broader topics included in the curriculum.
Students in Recording Workshop's CORE Program build a strong foundation of skills and knowledge in audio recording and music production. It is five weeks of concentrated training that emphasizes hands-on experience. The curriculum is a combination of daily studio activities and lectures. In the studio, students build their creative skills through numerous music and audio projects.
The ADVANCED Program enhances the experience of CORE Program grads. With a strong foundation in place, the finer points of production can be more deeply exercised in ADVANCED session work. Students become faster and smoother in hardware and software operation. They gain increased confidence and an assertiveness to tackle bigger projects.
Each program has a Materials Fee to cover items such as books, handouts, and project supplies. The fee is $110 for the CORE Program and $25 for the ADVANCED Program. We offer housing that is within a very short walk to our studios. Options include modern cabins shared by 4 to 6 students, and dorm-style houses with single/double room assignments.

Great place to learn audio engineering for beginners. In my experience, working there was awful. Don't take the internship. Management will ruin your day and possibly give you (me) a midlife crisis. But that's all I'm going to say for now.

Such an overwhelmingly positive experience. I'm truly going to miss this place and all the cool people I met here, instructors included. You will not regret your decision to come here.

I attended class back in the fall of 1993 and Loved every part of it. Its good to see based on the reviews that they are keeping up with what I experienced and with the changing of the technology as well.

I feel like this was a blessing to be apart of, the memories that Came from recording workshop will last a lifetime I met some beautiful minded people and enjoyed meeting people from all around the globe. The teachings really gets to the point where you learn everything you'll need to know in the field of audio engineer, it's very hands on, and you will get your mind molded to the studio framework fast and understand your role in the recording arts.

The lessons are very heart to heart they want you to learn but you also don't have any problems listening because the staff is so cool and the staff always help you understand everything before you leave the really have a hand on your shoulder the whole way through and I enjoyed hearing there stories and wise lecturers that kept me ahead of what to expect.

Great school I'm now working at a studio and I'm only 18! Last thing Don't be the guy, the staff is hilarious they will pick you as the guy out of the class and you wouldn't know, just don't be a weird and you will be smooth lol and June and Elliot is pretty cool, oh yeah If your black choose wisely on where to get your haircut, for two weeks my lining was messed up

I'm finishing up with classes in a few weeks. I'm excited to get back home and put to use all that I've learned so far. I'll be leaving here more confident and armed with knowledge that's already paying off.

Great school for digital, analog and live sound training. Also sound for picture. The education you receive for the money is the best you'll get anywhere. The alomni speaks volumes.

You get cut-to-the-chase practical understanding of the recording process. Enough classroom stuff to give you a grounding in why things matter, and then plenty of lab time to practice. Also, much better than average teachers.

My son attended Recording Workshop during the summer of 2013. The education he received opened up several doors for him professionally. He has had nothing but positive things to say about Recording Workshop. The staff was dedicated and knowledgeable and the administration did a terrific job selecting like-minded roommates for housing. My son was in between his junior and senior year in high school when he attended Recording Workshop so he had to get a waiver to attend.

At the time, I had anxiety about letting him go because I knew that he would be the youngest student attending. Now, I am so glad he attended because it was such a great experience for him, he learned so much and uses what he learned every day.
