To ensure that teachers have the necessary musical and pedagogical skills to make the Yamaha teaching philosophy a reality in the classroom, The Yamaha Music Foundation has established a rigorous teacher certification process. They also demonstrate a desire and aptitude for teaching children and a genuine dedication to teaching beginning musicians.
In order for children to enjoy music and to absorb and understand the given material easily, we believe it is best to give them appropriate guidance in accordance with degree of their physical and mental developement. Based upon this concept of timely education, the Yamaha method introduces music fundamentals to children at the time when their hearing capabilities are rapidly developing.
1954 Yamaha begins program of music classes -- precursors of the Yamaha Music School. 1956 The program named 'Yamaha Organ School' started. 1959 Yamaha Organ School renamed "Yamaha Music School". 1964 1st Electone Concours held. 1965 1st overseas Yamaha Music School opens in the U.S.A. 1966 Yamaha Music Foundation (YMF) established.
Our building is a free-standing historic two-story beige structure with white Bahama shutters conveniently located in downtown Vero Beach. We are directly on US #1, next to the 7-Eleven at the corner of 23rd Street (also known as Royal Palm Boulevard). Our location makes us easily accessible, whether you live on the barrier island or in one of our mainland neighborhoods.
