Big Apple Music

Pretty disappointed with my recent set up. When dropping off my guitar, employee wasn't really listening to my concerns about a potential issue with the nut causing buzzing. He told me it'd be ready in 2 days. No call from Big Apple. I called them and they had forgotten to call me. Went to pick up my guitar. Neck still has the same amount of relief, there is still buzzing, they didn't give me any feedback on the potential issue I specifically asked them to check. I basically paid $77 for a glorified string change. Absolute rip off and poor job. If I just wanted a string change I'd have done it myself.

Ordered a guitar from here through Reverb. Great communication, no hassle, arrived in 3 days - well-packaged and safe. 10/10

I've bought guitars, amps, accessories, mics, effect pedals and gifts from Big Apple Music for close to 40 years. It's a local retail shop that rivals any guitar store I've ever been in anywhere. The services matches the selection and they always make sure I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'm about to pick up another guitar from there in the coming days on order.

This is the best Music store for 100 miles in any direction away from Utica area. Great selection and prices. Service and friendliness is simply the best. We are so lucky to have a music store this good so close!

I love this place. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. My husband and I were gonna get an electric guitar at Amazon, but we decided we would rather support a small business instead and get the guitar here at Apple music. I am glad we did! We got a sweet guitar at a discounted price. They really helped us get what we wanted and it was a great experience.

I have not experienced such good customer service like this in decades. Found a beautiful guitar on eBay that was being sold by Big Apple Music. Instead of going back and forth to ask specific questions I had, I decided to give the store a call. Spoke with Mark 3 (works in drums) and he looked for the guitar but couldn't find it. He told me the owner and his son (Mark 1 and 2) weren't in and attempted to reach out to them about the status of the guitar.

Mark 1 (owner) called me right back, gave me a great rundown of the product, sold it to me at a more than fair price and was just an overall professional. This is why America needs Mom and Pop stores and not tons of chains or Amazon taking over. I felt welcomed and I felt my business was appreciated. Thanks to Big Apple Music, you guys rock

I ordered a classical guitar shipped from their shop out to CA, and am playing some great music on it! Prior to this, I ordered the same guitar from Amazon. It arrived weeks later flopping around loose in an unsealed box. They totally destroyed a nice instrument. Sent it back to Bezos pronto, and contacted Big Apple via Reverb. I had a new guitar in a matter of days.

It arrived secured in a double-box, thoroughly bubble-rapped, and completely flawless. Hell, it was even TUNED straight outta the box! I also received several follow-up personalized communications from a real human being along the way as well, both pre and post shipment. Bottom Line: Class operation, good people, great experience! I heartily recommend Big Apple Music!

I have been a customer of Big Apple since I bought my first guitar 23yrs ago. Recently I picked up an acoustic which is amazing quality. I also took my wife's vehicle there to have her remote starter installed. They had the truck in and out in about an hour and a half. Great fast and friendly service.

Had a new receiver and back up camera installed in my car and they did an outstanding job! The car was returned in pristine condition with no signs that the work was done - except the great new sound from the new system. Don't hesitate to have work done there. You won't be disappointed.

Mike and the other team members in the electronics were incredibly helpful. My husband & I went in with an unusual request. They brainstormed until they came up with a perfect solution, even though the equipment was from a different department. They helped us test it out, and when it came time to pay, took our payment to the other part of the store so my husband would not have to navigate there with his walker. Couldn't have had a better experience.

I been coming into the place for a some years. The staff is usually not very sociable but they let me play the guitars. You get the occasional guitarist from time to time that thinks it's ok to play loud, when you can't hear your own guitar. As well as the rude people who talk loudly or just make sounds. If you can't play the guitar, atleast have some consideration for someone that does.

If the staff even acknowledges your presence in the store no matter how long you have been in there, they will definitely stare at you like you're an idiot whenever you try to explain what you're looking for. The selection of musical instruments is very basic and will mostly suit students and people who don't know any better. Avoid this store for anything other than picking up and extra pack of strings or sticks. Even then, try somewhere else first.

Prices are a bit high, but staff is knowledgeable on the products. Did a car install here. Was done well and had fast turnaround time.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely recommend for any car audio needs. Mike in the shop is great, as well as Stephen up front. They may be slightly more expensive than competitors, but you will be getting quality work, products and customer service in return. Protip: Ask about the private theatre if you need to kill some time while you wait for any installations.

Got a remote starter installed here. The starter disabled my high beams, and when I spoke with a rep on the phone about getting them fixed, he was condescending and not helpful in the least. Won't be going back.

Great prices and price matches, helpful staff but if they order something for you don't wait for them to call you, call them. Just put a vox amp and Sabian cymbal on layaway. Again we worked with Jim. Great guy!

The owner's son needs to learn better customer service! His rude service cost their store our future business! Fortunately, they are not the only music store in town!

The guys at Big Apple are very helpful. They helped my 13 year old son get into a quality drum set that we could afford. They are very interested in helping the youth get involved in music.

This store never has anything you need. And if it does, you're not doing something right and you need to reassess your instrument setup. As much as I'd love to support a local business, this place has been terrible for the 15 years I've been trying to buy from them.

Not one person said anything to us, not even a greeting, in the 15 minutes that we spent inside Big Apple Music. Although they do have a nice selection of items, it's a shame that they really don't know how to display things. They have a large space but their layout is pretty terrible, in my opinion. There's a mess of instruments and it makes the store seem very unorganized.

The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and chill. They are very honest with customers and give you real advice, even if it means they won't be getting any patronage from you. The staff who fix your broken electronics or instruments are very professional and do an excellent job. The store is kept very clean and there are lots of items to browse. Great place for musicians.
