The start of a new season is a great time to start or come back to piano. Do I say that about every time of year? Of course! A fresh season is a wonderful time to begin something new, or to rededicate yourself to something that has slipped away. For those considering beginning lessons, it is a great time to get started so that music practice and enjoyment can be established as we head into Summer.
Is it "practice, " that word that sounds so much like homework or chores, or is it "Wow, I get to go make some music?" Practicing also includes that time we spend playing the pieces we know and love, and improvising or creating our own music. Beyond the-more-the-better obvious answer, of course it depends on age and level.
I am an active member of the Music Teachers' Association of California, and currently serve as President of the Sierra Branch. We are an involved, enthusiastic branch which offers continuing education opportunities to our Member Teachers, and performance opportunities, including Recitals and Festivals to our students.

Almost 3 years ago when my daughter was 6 she stated she wanted to take piano lessons. I started her with Cameron Park Piano due to a referral given by a friend. My daughter loves her instructor, Celia Frazer. Celia is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. She has never cancelled in the almost 3 years my daughter has had her as a teacher.
When my daughter wanted to quit piano I discovered, through talking with her, that the lessons were going to quickly and that she needed more help with her piano homework. I spoke with Celia who made great adjustments to the lessons which resolved my daughter's concerns and now she is back to loving taking her lessons. Celia is great to work with and has a great desire to see her students succeed and to keep their love of playing piano.
