We offer educational programming, unparalleled in size and scope among other central Wisconsin music institutions. We provide opportunities for early-learners, preschoolers, school children, and life-long learners. We believe these learning opportunities create a vibrant and interconnected community.
For more than 40 Years, the Wausau Conservatory of Music in Wausau, Wisconsin, has been dedicated to bringing music education to everyone in our community. We started in 1981, when piano teacher Bellamy Holser gathered music teachers together to create a Conservatory dedicated to providing a higher level of training for area musicians.
At the Wausau Conservatory of Music, we believe the right teacher makes all the difference. We work to match you with the instructor that will not only help you learn the fundamentals of your instrument; they will also inspire and encourage you. Your lessons should be both fun and educational, feeding your soul while you learn.
Explore and build your musical talents through individual lessons, classes, and ensembles. We offer individual instruction for more than 14 instruments, either online or in-person. For children ages birth to 4 years. Programs foster the development and refinement of general musical knowledge and cognitive skills and strengthens the bond between child and caregiver.

The Wausau Conservatory of Music, established in 1981, is a regional music school with over 900 students partipating in classes, ensembles and programs each year. The school offers both semester, summer or sample lessons, or short periods of lessons (review below is incorrect). The prices are realistic as the faculty have extensive musical degrees and solid teaching experience.
Plus the school gives out over $45,000 in tuition assistance a year. Our family has taken lessons from a variety of instructors and have benefited greatly from the quality instruction. A great place to be if you and your family loves music.

I disagree with other reviewers. Perhaps they didn't hit it off with a particular teacher, but the quality of the teachers at the conservatory is OUTSTANDING! It is a wonderful resource for our community, and if your child truly has musical ability this is the BEST option for them to learn and grow. It is a little expensive, but if that is a concern the conservatory has a number of scholarship opportunities available. Give the conservatory a chance, you'll be glad you did!
