Over the past seven years, all three of my children have taken piano lessons and some voice lessons through the Anderson Music Academy. I have nothing but good things to say about my family's experience there. Mr. Anderson has been a positive influence on all three of my kids. He teaches them the basics while allowing them the freedom explore the different types of music that interest them.
As a result, all of my kids have developed a love of music. The staff is very easy to work with and are very accommodating in regard to scheduling or rescheduling lessons. I have nothing but good things to say and I strongly recommend The Anderson Music Academy to anyone.

I've been taking piano lessons with Scott for three years and have really enjoyed it. Scott is knowledgeable across many genres, patient, and always has great insight on how I can improve. His love of and appreciation for music are clear through his enthusiasm for teaching. I highly recommend Scott.

We were so lucky to have Scott Anderson as both of our son's piano teacher. Scott is very professional and caring. He supported and nurtured their interests and enthusiasm for music. They were taught discipline, dedication, responsibility and how to perform under pressure. Music has made such a positive difference in their lives. The Academy is very well managed. Sarah Anderson communicates any changes with lessons and is always helpful when we need to schedule makeups or have a question with billing. I highly recommend the Anderson Music Academy.

Mr. Anderson is one of the finest musicians I have ever had the privilege of working with. His depth of knowledge about a plethora of musical topics extending from classical performance to jazz improvisation to musical composition is truly astonishing. Mr. Anderson's musical education has guided my playing from elementary school to university music school, and has paved a pathway of success for me as a pianist and a composer in the professional music world.

I finally took the initiative in April 2020 to consider taking piano lessons which is something that I've always wanted to do. I knew that there were a number of teachers in the South Hills area, but I wanted a teacher that would emphasize proper technique, which I think is important for beginners. I knew Scott Anderson from being in the music business and I knew that he was professionally trained and had a degree in music from Duquesne University.
I finally picked up the phone and called Scott and asked him if he was willing to take me on as a new student. He agreed without hesitation and I can say that 9 months later I'm glad that he did. Scott knows music. What's more, he takes time with you as a student and encourages questions. While learning to play piano is challenging, the teaching method that Scott uses makes it fun and not boring. Duets between student and teacher come often as they are hugely important in the overall learning process. Additionally, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, he has instituted all of the CDC suggested protocols at Anderson Music Academy to ensure student safety.
If you are at all thinking about taking up piano, or any other type of musical training, I would encourage you to strongly consider AMA as your one stop/shop location. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Scott Anderson is the consummate music professional combining musical theory with practical application. Scott has helped me regain my dormant piano skills (after 40 years of hibernation) in the early days of my retirement. His encouraging and positive "bedside manner" makes me look forward to our weekly piano session.
