Midwest Music Academy was founded in August of 2008 by our Director, Tom Serb - a guitarist with over 30 years of teaching experience. In the short time we've been open our philosophy has attracted international performers and recording artists to our staff; and our methods are showing results.We have programs for students of all ages: Suzuki method for our youngest students, traditional music education, recreational music programs, and hybrid programs for those students who want to play songs quickly, but also want a solid understanding of music fundamentals. We offer Private lessons in piano, guitar, violin, flute, trumpet, bass, trombone, tuba, baritone horn, French horn, voice and music theory. We also offer Semi-Private and Group lessons for guitar. For our homeschooled students, retirees and swing shift workers we offer daytime hours by appointment.

Tom is a great musician and teacher. During each lesson, he inspires me to try harder, identifies new ways to improve my technique, and challenges me to keep going. At first, I thought learning to play guitar was hard because I lacked "talent" and I am "too old to learn". However, Tom showed me what I could accomplish through hard work and patience. Thank you Tom!

We have been going to Midwest Music for 6 years. Tom, the owner, is an amazing teacher. The whole staff is extremely talented and friendly. You will only find the best of the best here. My kids started at 3 and 6 on piano and have become great budding musicians so much so that now we have expanded to guitar. My kids will keep learning from the best probably until they go away to college.

Thank you, Tom, for being a phenomenal piano teacher to our son. He has had his ups and downs, and you have been there through it all. Your confidence in him has made such a difference at home and at school. We appreciate you more than you'll ever know. He has been your student for almost two years now, and even though he is very self-conscious, you have lifted him up and gave him the boost he needed to perform at his first recital today.
