Private Lessons
Report
Private music lessons are available for: Piano, Keyboard, Guitar, Violin and Voice. The lessons are a duration of half-hour once a week for a scheduled time each week. A personal consultation (free) is available between student and teacher prior to signing up. We want you to be comfortable and know that we are a good match for you.
We use age-appropriate teaching material, and we will progress at a pace that is comfortable for the student. People learn in many ways, and as we go along we assess what works for you. We also have a knack for simplifying complex concepts. Our students have been as young as 4 years old up to age 91 years old.
Need live music for an event? Phyllis and Friends provide live music for Wedding Ceremonies, Cocktail hours, Receptions, Dinners, Corporate Functions, Open Houses, Birthday, Anniversary, Holiday, St. Patrick Day parties, etc. Almost any event needing live music or live bands. She also has musician friends that Sing, play Violin, Viola, Cello, Rhythm Guitar, Bass, Drums & Percussion. You may hire a single solo instrumentalist, such as a Pianist, Classical Guitarist, vocalist, or a Duo, Trio, Quartet or Live Band.

When there is no tuned piano in excellent condition available, we can bring an electric digital piano. It has a full piano keyboard with weighed keys (like an Acoustic Piano). It has an added advantage from an acoustic piano, and it has a few other voices and ability to split the keyboard so we can play piano with the right hand and Bass with the left hand - with appropriate songs (sounds like two musicians) We need first floor, no steps, OR an elevator.Otherwise, we can bring a portable Keyboard which might have some limitations of piano repertoire.
Our most versatile and popular DUO. This Duo plays all music genres, from Classical to Pop, Soft Rock, Jazz Standards, Country, Contemporary, Celtic, Swing, Sacred-Christian, and everything in-between. Our portable keyboards and electric pianos can split and sound like two instruments, so they actually can sound like a Trio.
Consists of: Violin, Piano, and Vocal/Guitar/Bass/Drums. The third musician can Sing and Play Bass-Drums-or Guitar, (just instrumental music), depending on music genre and taste of the client. Their favorite genres: Classic Rock and Jazz Standards, but they also do some Country, Celtic, Swing, and Contemporary, and a little of everything else.

We asked Phyllis to perform at Donor Recognition Event in a non-profit art center. This event was a first effort for everyone in the responsible department. All three of us are brand new to the organization and it was a bit of a scramble to put all of the pieces together. Because of that, we were extremely grateful for Phyllis' professionalism and self-sufficiency.
Her musicianship was excellent, and she was a great, no-fuss business partner. She let us know what she needed concisely, and took care of everything else. I would highly recommend her, and wouldn't hesitate to hire her again if the opportunity presents itself.

Phyllis was great. We did not book her til 3 weeks prior to the wedding. She was actively helpful and fast in choosing material and making recommendations that fit the needs/ideas of the bride and her mother!. There was a very last minute act of God issue that arose that could easily have disrupted the event. Phyllis went well above and beyond what was necessary.
Being in the service industry, I view this type of accommodation as the epitome of professionalism. I would hire her again with total excitement. I want to let you know how fantastic the trio was at our wedding. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the music, and it added the perfect touch to our event. Kathy was so fantastic to work with before the wedding and she made everything so easy. I hope I can figure out a reason to use them again in the future!
