You are wasting your money on lessons unless you have a great teacher with a great program. With excellent instructors and learning techniques students grow at an accelerated rate, cutting their learning time dramatically (and the amount of money ultimately spent on lessons). In our studios, you will have a personable player as a teacher, who crafts our program to enable you to play or sing the music you love, not the music your teacher likes.

Our teachers have observed over 100 student lessons, they have learned and follow the Promethean curriculum for their instruments, and have played an average of 15 years. Promethean teachers are career musicians; they're dedicated players and singers skilled in their art, who understand what it feels like to want to make music. Our methods teach people to become great while having a blast. Our students become musicians and players or singers who like what they're doing, not just people who take lessons. And they get to play and sing the songs they love while still learning correct techniques.

BANDS: In addition to private lessons we offer various styles of bands. Be in a band (4 to 10 students) that plays music you love with other people your age, like yourself, and with a teacher to lead, supervise, and critique. You'll play cool songs, maybe get a chance to improvise or write a song with the group. Your band will meet once a week for 4 months and culminate in a live performance which will be recorded and you'll get a CD. All instruments are welcome, not just ones we teach - Guitar Keyboard-Piano Voice Drums Bass Winds Strings!! Styles of bands offered are Country, Jazz, Classic Rock, Classical, Modern Rock, R & B, Praise & Worship, Blues, and Metal.

Also currently offering Summer Rock Band, Guitar, Voice, Piano, Songwriting, Bass, and Drum Camps starting June 8th through the summer! See our site for details about summer camps.

Mark is an excellent teacher. He tailors his teaching to your learning style, interests and schedule, no matter your age and proficiency (I am an adult beginner). He is very patient and has a great sense of humor. He builds your skill on a foundation of music theory even as he encourages you in learning to perform the music you like.

I am going into my 3rd year of Mr. Black's class and it has been and still is an awesome experience. I haven't experienced this much excitement about learning anything in a long time. I've dreamed of playing Jazz Guitar for ages and I've just played "Autumn Leaves", a jazz standard, at one of Mark's recitals. That feeling of accomplishment in that moment was magical.

I couldn't have dreamed of a better instructor as Mark Black. Please don't miss out on the opportunity of a life time by not taking Mark up on his offer. It will be well worth your time and money as an investment learning how to play and creat sonic art. Mark is the best music instructor I've met.

I have been taking guitar lessons with Promethean Studios for the better part of two years now and I can honestly say it has been one of the best decisions I've made. After having taken piano lessons since childhood from poor instructors, I was a bit skeptical of starting up again with a new instrument, however Mark is always patient, insightful, and tolerable of my millions of questions during lessons. lol. I highly recommend him if you're looking to learn music in the DFW area.

I have been taking lessons with Mark for years. I am continuing to grow as a musician and a worship leader. Mark has extensive knowledge of almost every instrument as well as voice. He is someone I trust and would highly recommend to musicians of all levels.

Mark is an amazing piano instructor. He first learns about your personality, learning style, and any prior musical knowledge one may have. Then tailors a lesson plan based off of the information given. His lessons are laid back, enjoyable, and easy to follow. And he will often stop to make sure that the topic discussed is understood. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend him for piano lessons. A+++

My 8 year old son has been taking guitar lessons for over a year and he loves it. He gets to choose what songs he learns, alongside proper music theory and practical skills for improvisation, technique, and ear training. Mr. Black provides the right balance of serious study and fun play.

Mr. Mark Black is an amazing voice and guitar coach/ instructor. My daughter has been learning from him since 2014 and enjoys his style of teaching. His passion for music, performance and teaching so many different instruments and vocal genres makes him stand apart from other studios. I highly recommend Promethean studios to anyone interested in music- beginner or professional. You will learn and grow. Mr. Mark is very professional; his sense of humor is equally appreciated by my daughter.

I have taken voice lessons from Mark Black for ten years. During that time I went on and off between learning about other instruments as well, specifically piano and guitar. Mark is one of the most talented people I have ever met. Not only is he a phenomenal musician (it seems like he is talented at every single thing you can be talented in when it comes to music) but he is also an awesome person.

He cares about all of his students well being. He not only wants to make a musical difference in a person's life, but also a personal one. He has challenged me to grow musically and encouraged me not to quit even when I really wanted to. I am now pursuing a career in music and I have no doubt he has had a positive influence in my life. I could go on and on about him for days, but I encourage you to find this out on your own and TAKE LESSONS FROM THIS STUDIO. Mark Black and the rest of his staff are fantastic and you will not be disappointed.

I have been a member of the rock and jazz bands with Promethean Studios for several years. Mark Black is an excellent instructor and mentor for the bands, offering suggestions on what and how to play, encouraging students and band members to participate and to make suggestions for the approach to the song. He makes the sessions enjoyable and fun while guiding the students to be better players and band members. If you are looking to join a band, or simply would like to improve your playing skills or even learn a new instrument, I highly recommend Promethean Studios.

Excellent facility and environment for learning. Unique opportunity to play in the studio band which reinforces the lessons. Very knowledgeable instructors; some are actually playing professionally in a band. Recitals and seminars are available which gives one another audience to perform in front of. Cost value is good and competitive for the area. The entire staff is friendly, flexible and eager to teach. The relationships developed with staff and students is great. I'm having so much fun learning.

My 13 year old daughter has taken guitar lessons at Promethean Studios for many years now. She has learned so much and become so talented and confident, we really feel blessed to have found this studio. Not only does she learn to read and play beautiful music, she has and continues to learn theory. She was well ahead of her peers in middle school music classes.

My daughter's instructor and the other instructors we have dealt with at the studio are extremely knowledgeable and personable, making learning a very enjoyable experience with professional instruction. I highly recommend Promethean Studios and am grateful for the confidence and love of music they have instilled in my daughter.

I love Promethean Studios. I have been taking guitar lessons here for 5 years and I love it. Although I initially wanted to learn classical guitar, my instructor, Cory Hopkins, taught me to broaden my outlook on the world of music. Now I know some jazz and am learning a flamenco piece. Cory has taught me that while there are books and books on music, you only truly learn once you feel the music.

I've completely gotten over my stage fright and even go in to work with my dad on Saturdays to play music in the background while his customers shop. Master classes and recitals couldn't make me nervous because I feel like I know everyone there and am playing for everyone, not just my instructor. Recitals are to show what you've learned, and learning is something to be proud of.

But the best part about it all is that my teacher isn't the only one I know and feel comfortable around. The other instructors give me tips as well, even if they're just telling me that I play great and am learning lots, or giving me tips on how to pick out new strings. Promethean isn't the type to turn you away or make you feel scared. In fact, it's just like one big happy musical family. And that's the place you're going to want to be. :)

Couldn't disagree more with the posting criticizing Promethean. It's a great place to take music lessons. Our 15-year-old son has taken guitar lessons there for 2 years. He enjoys the lessons and has learned quite a bit. It's been great watching him develop his skills and confidence. We love the fact that his instructor, Mark Black, tailors the lessons to his interests.

We had gone through previous guitar teachers and a music teacher where that wasn't the case, and it was greatly frustrating. We also appreciate how the lessons stretch our son and help him grow. Just don't understand the initial reviewer's perspective at all.

I have been taking private lesson at Promethean Studios for almost a year. Prior to that I spent a few years trying to learn to sing and play guitar through video instruction and things I found on the Internet, mainly hitting a wall when trying to get beyond the basics. I was afraid to go to my first lesson, having never sung or played the guitar in front of anyone except family, but I was made to feel comfortable right away.

The one to one style of instruction is very supportive. The quality of instruction is exceptional. My lessons have helped me work toward my voice and guitar goals, playing music I like, balanced with a healthy dose of music theory. I feel like I am becoming a musician. I really enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate what I have learned in a recital, and I enjoyed the opportunity to play in an adult band.

This is a very good school. My teacher is very knowledgeable and passionate about music. The school works with you as far as lesson times, and the lessons are very affordable. For me, it's all about playing the music I love, and I was able to do that after my second lesson.

I have twelve year old twins, that have been taking guitar and Bass lessons for almost a year now, they have had an incredible experience, I have been amazed at how much they have learned in the time they have been taking the lessons. They have been in two recitals, they have had music seminars, they know theory, chords, are always eager to go to their lesson or band practice.

Every teacher is incredible and very talented, I did a lot of asking around about the best place to take lessons, and almost everyone I asked said their experience had been that the teacher would pretty much just teach them to strum to their ipod music. I knew this was not what I wanted for my boys, and feel blessed that a friend of mine told me last summer that the studio did summer camps.

I was so impressed with how easy they were to work with, and with my work schedule. They even let me rent guitars, so I wouldn't have to buy them if my boys decided they didn't want to sign up after the summer camp. That was not the case. They love it... i highly recommend it. It's AWSOME...

We've used Mark Black for piano, guitar, voice, and rock band lessons. He is an outstanding teacher, providing an opportunity for the student to progress quickly from any level of proficiency. He is able to easily adapt lessons and instruction to the student's needs and what the student desires to accomplish. We haven't experienced other instructors at the studio, but have been very pleased with the instruction and lessons received from Mark spanning the last several years.

Given our experience with him, one would expect as the owner that he would look for these same qualities and traits when bringing on other instructors and teachers. And having the option for e-lessons these days is a wonderful added benefit as well. What can you lose by giving it a try? You'll probably be hooked for good.

I have been taking piano lessons for 2 years at this studio and I really like how my teacher helps me to learn. With my teacher's help, I even learned to play Fur Elise all the way through in 3rd grade! Some parts of learning the piano are kind of hard but my teacher always makes it fun. I love taking lessons at this studio!

I've been taking vocal lessons at Promethean Studios for about 6 months. When I started, I had a TERRIBLE fear of performing in public - even in front of my friends. Mark has not only taught me theory and how to improve my voice, but he is helping me get over my stage fright as well. I'm even singing for friends and family now and performing at recitals - something I would never have done in the past.

I still have a lot to learn, but I can see distinct improvements in the quality of my voice. I can't recommend this studio more highly. It's an excellent value for the money, and you will get support and knowledge that is very difficult to find elsewhere.

I first signed up with Promethean Studios to learn how to play the bass guitar. When I learned that I was going to have a 30 minute session a week I thought I was going to be paying for a guy to simply hand me the next exercise I needed to do that week and so on...I was very wrong.

Promethean Studios doesn't only teach you to master the instrument of your choice, it teaches you how to be a Musician. Prof.

Mark Black has designed a teaching experience that covers all aspects of music and everything is easy to understand and learn. The process of learning is so intuitive and fun that it has never been boring to practice more and more every week. His ear is so finely tuned and filled with experience that every lesson he can detect what I'm playing wrong, explain to me why its wrong and he can simply pick up his own bass and with his impressive skills show me how to play it.

Thanks to Promethean Studios' complete Musician experience that include playing with a band, seminars, summer camps, recitals and uploading your performance to Youtube, you can become a skilled musician that understands music. Highly Recommend it and assure you that you will not be disappointed.

This teaching studio is sub-par compared to other studios in the D/FW area. There is no structure in the lesson plan and the teachers have a sit back and watch approach. I came here to increase my technical abilities (I studied music in college & taught part-time while in college) but they lack the knowledge and expertise in the intermediate-advance levels.

From seeing some of the teacher performances at student recital, it is evident that most of the teachers are not skilled players. My son took lessons and he seemed to have fun but after 6 months he had learned no theory and developed poor technique. I wonder if it is legal to retain money I paid for poor services.
