Piano Lessons:
My philosophy is to develop the musical potential of each student to the fullest by providing a comprehensive program of music study. The Suzuki approach believes that the process for language learning can be applied to music like learning one's native tongue. Talent is learned and every child can be educated in the musical language through the appropriate environment
The teacher, student, and parent(s) together and are equilateral components of the success of this ability development.
A great deal of time will be spent on the aural model (i.e. listening) as music is first and foremost about sound. The quality of playing with a beautiful tone, and sensitive playing will be emphasized. All students must go through the Suzuki repertoire to gain the technical and musical knowledge to play well. Skills such as music theory, ear training, sight reading, transposition, keyboard harmony, improvisation, composition, and ensemble skills will also be incorporated during private or group lessons.
This studio provides students with a dedicated environment that is well-equipped with acoustic and digital instruments and the studio is constantly updated with new technological innovations that come along to enhance the students learning experience. For fuller understanding of the Suzuki philosophy, all parents are advised to read Nurtured by Love by Shinichi Suzuki.
Voice lessons:
My philosophy is to develop the musical potential of each student to the fullest by providing a comprehensive program of music study. The weekly instruction of 45 minutes in voice include a systematic study of principles of voice-training through technique lessons and exercises, the study of solfege for sight-reading, learning songs in different styles from various musical eras. I encourage students to study and to sing in foreign languages, especially Italian, German, and French. Having a good keyboard knowledge gives voice students an excellent background for singing.
