However, my passion is teaching adults and children of all ages.
Some of my adult students are absolute beginners, avocational l pianists who play at an advanced level, and other piano teachers who want to improve their own playing.
My adult students come from all walks of life and have advanced degrees in fields such as Electronic Engineering, lawyers, Google gurus, and education for example.
I give student recitals every year for those studying piano.
My main focus is teaching students to learn the piano to have a good time achieving their theory, technique, sight reading, interpretation of music. Passing on years of study and practice having studied with some of the best.

Ours is my ability to both play and teach piano, and our goal is to teach music to as many people as possible. We hope for students to have a healthy, wonderful way of expressing theirselves for the rest of life in music. If you want to learn more about Composing Music and/or Instrumental Music, then these are for you.
The Music In Motion School was founded by Sharon Yost to teach music to children of all ages - from 4 to 74 years old! As a qualified music teacher with a BA degree in Music from Holy Names University, I have spent years studying my instrument, also playing professionally in chamber orchestra and as an organist.
For someone looking to learn music, piano lessons could, and should, be considered a perfect starting point. Not only is the piano often referred to as the 'king' of instruments, it has many benefits for a beginner. It is very easy to produce a sound, a sound that is predictable, it does not require an 'ear' or 'technique', to get it right, unlike a violin, making it less challenging than other instruments. The predictable sound means the student does not need an established musical ear to know whether the sound produced is correct.

Sharon has been teaching my daughter for several months now. She is a very experienced piano teacher. We like her calm and pleasant style. My daughter enjoys the lessons very much. She says Ms. Sharon is very kind and patient to her when trying to correct her and make her do better during the lessons. Sharon is also flexible on rescheduling when we are out of town. She relocated to up north Alamo but we don't mind the extra miles.

Sharon is a lovely, traditional and experienced piano teacher. My kids have had lessons for a year & have progressed nicely. Piano lessons have helped my kids develop other areas of their brain and teach them mastery is a reward for practicing. In the current era of too many screens, digital school and many things closed or cancelled, my children have really benefited from the consistency of piano lessons with Sharon.

Music In Motion is a first class facility that offers so many options that it is hard to decide what to take. However, they offer a free trial class in any of their programs, so it makes your choice a bit easier. Their prices are extremely competitive, and the teachers are absolutely great. I know many people who have switched from their private teachers just to go to Music In Motion.
My child never liked his instructors, and he was never motivated to play his instrument. After he started taking lessons with David, he seemingly never put his instrument down. I have heard this same scenario time and again. If you are looking for a fine place to take your children, or for that matter, yourself, give the folks at Music In Motion a chance. You will not be dissappointed.

Music In Motion Gives lessons on so many things that it is hard for you or your child to choose which activities they want to try - THANK goodness that they give you a FREE lesson in any of these activities so you can make a decision. My child began piano lessons about a year ago there, and he absolutely loves the school and his teacher David. I highly recommend Music In Motion for you and your family.
