Private lessons offered in my studio. Fundamentals taught include: posture/positioning, basic concepts of rhythm and note/rest values, and note reading. For little ones (ages 4+) charts, toys, illustrations and games are used to provide incentive/motivation. Articulation, shifting, vibrato, and theory are also areas of focus. I've coached -Washington County Youth Orchestra, taught in area schools, been a member (1st violinist) of Kettle Moraine Symphony and have taught privately for 30+ years. References are available. Lisa Kitzke
My name is Lisa Kitzke. I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 1993 with a BFA in Music Performance. I teach traditional violin lessons in my home/studio in Jackson and accept students ages 4/5 yrs and older. In addition to teaching privately, I've coached the 2nd violins for the UW-Washington County Youth Orchestra, been a member of the 1st violin section in Kettle Moraine Symphony since 2010, play as 1st violinist in Mosaic String Quartet, taught in area schools for 8 years.
As for the lessons; each lesson takes into account each student's goals, abilities, experience, strengths and weaknesses. I also structure the lesson around each individual student; something you can only get in private lessons. My teaching style is open and honest, fun and encouraging. For young beginners, I typically will incorporate games, music listening, charts, toys, even illustrations to provide motivation and to keep learning fun and exciting.
