Elizabeth Elliot finished Augsburg College in 1994 with majors in cello and voice and a minor in piano. She has had extensive coursework in music education, conducting and history and has trained students of all ages and abilities since 1992, when she established her own studio in the Twin Cities. Liz was both Principal Cello and Principal Viola of the Northeast Orchestra, Acting Principal Cello of the Valley Symphony, Section Cellist with the Civic Orchestra of Mpls, and is currently Section Cello in SSCO.
She sold violin family instruments for Fein Stringed Instruments in St. Paul and Cauer Violins in LA for a cumulative six years. She has accompanied several recitals and musicals on piano, guitar and bass guitar, and her vocal work was involved in many musicals. She taught cello and chamber music at the Upper Midwest String and Chamber Music Conference every summer from 1995-98 and cello, viola and chamber music at the MacPhail Center for the Arts Summer String Camps from 1994-98. Her students have gone on to major in music at schools such as Princeton, Lawrence Conservatory, Peabody, Vanderbilt, Oberlin, UW-Madison, Perpich Center for Arts Education, Walnut Hill and LACHSA. Many have become doctors, lawyers, scientists and teachers, as well as professional musicians.
Liz's teachers involve Peter Howard, Laura Sewell, John Moye, Robert Jamieson and Cecilia Rossiter on cello. She worked with Lila Olson, Karla Miller and Elizabeth Prescott in her vocal studies. She studied piano with Celeste O'Brien and Elliott Wilcox.
Together with being an accomplished musician, Liz is an actress, writer, director and producer of theater. She has taught acting classes to students of widely varying levels and has twice been nominated for Best Production at the ADA VallTheatertre League Awards in both 2002 and 2004. She is currently writing two novels, has finished a third and is a published poet and a produced playwright.

Private music lessons for kids
Report
I teach piano to kids 4 and up, violin, viola, cello and bass to kids 6 and up. Lessons are in-home or at my home in Pasadena. 2 recitals per year (spring and fall) , workshop, field trip and small ensemble opportunities are available! I have been teaching for nearly 20 years and have a BA in music.
