Mr Music was opened in Framingham MA in the '60s by Mickey Magnante, world-famous accordionist. The store relocated to Fort Myers in 1971, with the start of its first location downtown in the Patio De Leon. Mickey's son David took over the company in 1984 after he attended Boston College. David runs a hands-on business. You can still find him in the shop most every day.
Mr. Music stands out as Lee County's oldest music shop, specializing in individualized service for each client . This is also one of the few shops in the country where folks can find accordions, both piano style and diatonic. David's great uncle, Mr. Charles Magnante was, and still is popular as the world's best accordionist! David is an expert player in his own rite. He also repairs accordions and provides one-to-one instruction.
Whether you are searching for a band instrument, guitar, drum set, violin, printed music, supplies, repairs, lessons or related accessories, Mr. Music has it all.
"We have always been a leader in the community when it comes to private music lessons and great service," says David Magnante. "Give us a try. You'll be glad you did!"
We are honored to have many satisfied customers we've been able to serve over the years.

First time customer, certainly not my last. Open on Sundays, I searched while taking a family member to the airport. My wife, daughter and myself were in search of a good ukulele and always in search of good customer service and knowledge. BINGO! we got the trifecta. Bob was awesome in directing my daughter to the perfect instrument and answered all questions.

Shout out to Dave and Bob at Mr Music in Ft Myers. Spent Christmas at father in law's in Bonita Springs. We were looking for a case/bag for our son's banjo. I called left message at Mr Music. Got a call back from Bob in a few minutes and he informed me that he was pretty sure that they had a bag and that Dave would be in shortly and call to confirm. Got a call from Dave about a half hour later said he had two bags.
My wife and I found the store easily and Dave had the bag waiting. The store had every kind of Instrument. String, brass, woodwind, percussion and accordions. Dave's family has a long and famous history as accordion playing. After a great conversation about accordion players and music in general, we decided to look around and ended up getting an electric tenor ukulele for one of our daughters.
A nice wooden percussion set for another daughter and a stand and banjo lessons for our son. Mr Music offers lessons for any kind of instrument, seven days a week! I'd just like to add that I've been a musician for over thirty years. I've been to a lot of music stores across the country and Mr Music is certainly at the top of my list. I would highly recommend Mr Music for any of your music needs.
From sales and service to lessons Mr Music has the experience and expertise for all your music needs. Thanks again to Bob and Dave, and we hope to see you next time we're in Ft Myers.

I give Mr. Music, Metro Pkwy. Ft. Myers 5 stars for several reasons. I've been in past years dealt with several other music stores for myself and 2 school aged children that both play horns, I play guitar and from experiance Mr. Music's always a pleasant experience with music lessons, staff, repairs, fair pricing, and professionalism.

I have been taking lessons from Mr. Music for two year now. I can't speak more highly of the entire staff. David, the owner, is a very nice man, and very interested in your success. Bob, who handles a lot of the bookings, is easy to work with, and very consistent to deal with. Danny, my instructor, is amazing. I would highly recommend Mr. Music. Feel free to ask me questions about my experience. I have been to several other instructors and there is no comparison.

We love Mr. Music! My children take piano lessons from Miss Debbie and Miss Monica. Both teachers have been wonderful and always take time to speak with me about their progress. I have found the staff in the store to be helpful and easy to work with. I love being able to see schedule availability online. We get regular emails keeping us up to date with recital plans. If you are looking for music lessons, I would definitely recommend checking them out!

Our daughter has taken piano lessons with Monica for the last 2 1/2 years. Monica goes out of her way to provide our daughter with the music she likes so that she continues to take an interest and love playing! David, Bob and even the substitute instructors have always been outstanding, helpful, and very professional. They make learning fun and my daughter looks forward to her lessons and practicing!
We have also used the piano tuner they recommended and we couldn't be more pleased! They are an incredible asset to our community and we are very lucky to have them in Fort Myers!

My husband grew up in Fort Myers, played in band all middle school and high school. Always went to Mr. Music for all his needs. After graduating high school, he decided to put his trumpet up for consignment here with the owner. The owner gave him one of his fake dollar bills with his picture on it and details of the shop. He wrote a pencil receipt with my husbands name, my husband number, and what kind of trumpet. It's been on consignment for over 6 years.
Every 6 months we call the shop, dropped our price per the conversation with them regarding the fact that it hadn't sold. We wanted to let a child that loved music as much as my husband enjoy the trumpet, fall in love with everything music. Today when I called the owner was very rude and was upset that we didn't have the serial number. Understandable that you want the proper owners to inquire one their items, however the fact that he was rude on the phone saying quote "I have a store full of people who wants to buy, it's just me and another person here and I don't have time to DEAL with you" was a bit extreme.
I was shocked and before I could explain what was going on he put me on hold for another 5 min. When he finally came back on the phone, I explained to him that my receipt was a pencil one that he made, that he nor my husband wrote down the serial number, that I understood the whole store full, however I was a customer as well on the phone. He continued to say that "if I was the true owner, I would have had the number." If this owner thinks he can keep running his business like this, the sad fact is there's other mom and pops stores in Lee County that we will encourage anyone who hears us to go to them instead.
If he's super busy, simply say I can take your name and number and we can call you back. Very simple. As I looked around online- not surprise by the reviews giving bad stars.

Everyone at Mr Music has been extremely professional. I have 3 boys all of them take lessons for various brass instruments. Evan has been extremely understanding and kind. His knowledge and instruction is just what my boys need. Bob is friendly and very helpful if we need sheet music, reeds, or help tweeting our schedule. I would and do recommend Mr Music for music and music lesson needs.

I'm giving one star because I have to. The guy that works there Bob is so creepy. I would sit and wait for my child's class and he would always come over and sit next to me telling me about "life". I would even pretend to have a call and step outside then come back in and sit on the other side of the room. I had to let him know several times that his advances were not welcome and even called the owner Dave about it.
That just seemed to make it worse. He got my home number out of the computer and called several times. When told once again (not so nice this time) to please just leave me alone.all of a sudden they don't have room for my child to take a class? She was there three months in the same time slot. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. Also if you want to take music lessons most churches offer free classes.

I have been taking guitar and drum lessons at Mr. Music since I have moved to the Fort Myers area. My lessons at Mr. Music have increased my skill level significantly. My instructors are great at their instruments, and genuinely take pride in the progress of their students. The atmosphere is extremely friendly, and welcoming to students at any skill level.
The best part of the lessons here - they are fun! I always look forward to coming here each week. I highly recommend Mr. Music if you want to start playing an instrument, or want to improve on one that you already play.

have been doing business with Mr. Music for many years. I have purchased several guitars both acoustic and electric as well numerous musical items in the store and used them for a repair on a guitar I damaged. I even bought a guitar from Daves dad many, many years ago. I have come to personally know the owner of Mr. Music (David Magnate) from my years of doing business with him.
Each time I have purchased something or just stopped in for advice, Dave and his staff have always been happy to meet my needs or just answer questions I had at the time. I have always received that personal service that is all too often missing with the big chain store employees. I think Mr. Music has a great inventory and on occasion when they did not have what I wanted, they were all too happy to order it for me.
I have been so impressed with them that I now have my grandson going there for his guitar lessons and he loves it! Certainly seems like he is learning music and he loves his instructor. I don't know about you, but I personally like doing business with locally owned stores of any kind: you know, the stores where you feel like your business really is important and you are not just another customer who's business doesn't matter to them. I highly recommend you visit Mr. Music for your next musical purchase. It certainly seems to be a family friendly store and I know you will not be disappointed.
