TuneTown Music Gear has been locally owned and operated for eight years in in the beautiful seacoast town of Wells, Maine. Proprietors John and Pam Edwards bring generations of musical industry experience with the vision of providing a positive and nurturing experience in music instruction, service, and sales. We are focused on helping customers and their families discover and enjoy their muse.When we purchased the TuneTown facility in 2003 , we custom designed the space to include nine large state of the art lesson studios on the second floor, a recording studio and live performance stage. In the showroom, you'll find an excellent selection of fretted instruments, keyboards, amplification, PA and recording gear, print music and accessories at competitive prices. TuneTown provides repair and maintenance on stringed instruments, electronics, as well as brass and woodwind instruments. We stock major brand products, and we service all items locally.

You should start with whichever you want to play. If you want to shred guitar solos like Jimi Hendrix, you may not enjoy playing acoustic. If you want to accompany yourself singing some Joni Mitchell songs, you may feel out of place with an electric. Shaun comes to TuneTown from Berklee College of Music in Boston where he is an instructor.
While it is true a 4-string bass is tuned just like the top 4 strings on a guitar, the way you approach the instrument and your role in the band is very different from guitar. Most electric basses have 4 strings. If you want to have room to go a bit lower you may want a 5-string. They also make 6 and 7-string basses, but those generally go higher in pitch and may not be practical for the person just getting started on bass. He has a strong background with the guitar, specifically classical and jazz guitar.
Piano is an excellent instrument to start on. Some say it's the best instrument to start on because it's the easiest to learn music theory on. It's very easy to see the patterns and relationships between the notes. Ben offers classical and jazz training, music theory, and the technique required to understand and perform well in any idiom.
