McGlothlin Music Amy has won several competitions, including the Marshall University Concerto Competition and the Prince William Symphony Soloist Competition. She was also a participant in the inaugural Adolphe Sax Competition in Dinant, Belgium in 1994.

Amy is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Boston University where she is studying with Kenneth Radnofsky. She is also the professor of saxophone at Salem State University in Salem, MA as well as Gordon College in Wenham, MA.

Amy is the current Pipe Major of the Clan MacPherson Pipes and Drums, one of the oldest continually performing bagpipe organizations in the United States.
