The Centre for Musical Minds provides piano lessons in person on high end grand pianos, and online, for all ages and stages. We have provided lessons online around the world (from India to South Dakota and beyond) since 2013. CMM is the first music school in Frisco to incorporate Artificial Intelligence in the learning process.
Our favorite book for kids - "Not Until You've Done Your Practice: The classic survival guide for kids who are learning a musical instrument, but hate practicing." 2. Whatever you do, make sure you practice right after your lesson AND the day following - retention will be 90%! Our three favorite books for parents who would like some advice on getting the most out of their music lessons.
All of our faculty are professional musicians, have music degrees, many have master's degrees and some even have DMA's! Read our teacher bios on the website for up-to-date faculty information. We do not guarantee make up lessons. However, if we are able to accommodate your request, we have two alternatives; a video exchange lesson or an online lesson during your regular lesson time.
However, if we are able to accommodate your request, we have two separate options for you (online or video)!. Establish what you will use: FaceTime, Zoom, Google Hangouts or Skype. Exchange information with your teacher via the Tonara messaging app an hour or two before the lesson is to begin. Bring a pencil, and maybe a few markers or highlighters to mark your music at your teacher's request.

CMM has been a very special place for my three kiddos these past 3 years. Miss Kristin and staff are wonderful and the live performance opportunities (even during these challenging times) are a nice opportunity to share what they’ve been working on. If you’re looking for lessons (virtual or in person), check out The Centre for Musical Minds.

Amazing teachers and methodology! I have known Kristin Yost for a long time and I love how she always tries to evolve as a teacher, and brings along the other teachers. Your kid will have fun playing on the instruments that are of great quality, while exploring music with the innovative teacher - or try it for yourself! It's good for the brain to learn to play an instrument - no matter the age!

Since day 1, Kristin has inspired and helped grow my son's love of music. I love that she encourages him to choose his favorite songs to learn and any books or sheet music is included in our tuition. The teaching staff is educated in not only music but teaching as well. Their bios are extensive! This is truly a team of professionals. Search no more for someone to teach you or your child all that music can do!

I am a former piano teacher myself, so I am very picky about who teaches my children! My son, Ethan, has been with several piano teachers since he started his piano journey and he has grown the most at CMM. He LOVES playing the piano and I never have to remind him to practice. This school is not in it for the profit, but they are in it for the student, and it shows! I am thrilled with Ethan's progress at CMM and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Centre for Musical minds is the best place for music education, after me exploring a lot of other music schools. Kids get to explore a lot different aspects of music through different opportunities they provide here. Teachers are great and I highly recommend this place. My daughter is with Eva and we love her.

When we moved to Frisco, I was looking for a good Piano School for my daughters and the first time I spoke to Kristin, it was a very easy decision. The teachers at CMM are very friendly, knowledgeable and very encouraging. Kids get to perform in lot of recitals, which make them very confident. My older one has been learning music at CMM for 5 years and little one for the past 2 years and we are very happy with the progress they've made since.

We tried a number of different studios with different approaches before starting at CMM and now we are home. My 2 sons have been students at CMM for over 5 years. They can sit down at the piano and play with arrangements and make them their own. They learn music that speaks to them as people and enjoy practicing. They can compose. They are challenged musically and can play beautiful classical pieces or learn the process required to play with a jazz band (we love the jazz band recital).
They can use the latest technology as a part of the process. All these things contribute in developing my sons' talents. My oldest son's music education program is different than my youngest son's music education program because they are different people! Before CMM, every other studio we attended wanted to turn out a certain product. It was cookie cutter and focused more on creating their interpretation of a performer playing a piece, not a musician.
There IS a difference. When you find a studio who looks at your child, finds out who they are, and develops their "musician within", you know you've found your music studio home.

After looking for a teacher for my two kids I about gave up. There are many qualified musicians that can teach music but not they are not real teachers. Kristin from Musical Minds is a blessing in disguise, it has been so hard for me to get my kids to focus on their music but since we started lessons at musical minds that is no longer a problem. She takes the time to teach the music to them without getting frustrated and she keeps it fun for them. I have recommended her to many of my personal friends and family.
