Steve Freides

Steve Freides holds MM and DMa degrees in Choral Conducting from the Mannes College of Music in NYC and SUNY at Stony Brook, NY, respectively. Steve won the award for excellence in Theory and Ear-Training upon his graduation from Mannes and later served full-time faculty in its College, Preparatory, and Extension Divisions.

A life-long guitarist and former classical guitar major in college, Steve has been teaching privately since 1971, teaching student from 4 to 90 years old. Steve has served Bergen Highland United Methodist Church as organist since 2015 and plays double bass with the New Jersey Wind Symphony.
