Greenwich Music is a family owned business located at 1200 East Putnam Avenue in Riverside (Greenwich) Connecticut. Our roots date back to the 1960's when we were known as Fraioli Music in Port Chester, New York. Our Music school is still called the "Fraioli School of Music" as a tribute to the store's history. Over the years customer satisfaction has always been our number-one priority, and that will never change.Our staff are all seasoned industry professionals who will help you find the right instrument, or piece of gear in a friendly, no-pressure environment. Greenwich Music staff are not paid on commission, so you can relax knowing that what we recommend is what will work best for your needs, not what puts the most money in the salesperson's pocket.
We are truly a one-stop shop for all of your musical needs. We provide a wide selection of instruments and accessories, a top-notch music school, and two in-house repair centers for both band/orchestral instruments and guitars/fretted instruments. We also rent more than 3,000 band and orchestra instruments to both schools and individual customers each year.

Music has been referred to as the universal language. Data shows that one of the many benefits of learning music at an early age is demonstrated in a child's enhanced ability to process language. Research points to increased neural growth and activity in children who participate in music education, and has even made a strong argument to linking music study to improved spatial-temporal skills in children. So while your child may benefit from music education in areas outside of music, we can't overstate how music serves to enrich and enliven our lives.
Once you have mastered chords, basic melodies, and sight-reading our instructors will challenge you with a new technique or music theory, dive deeper into music theory, learn different scales, advanced picking techniques, different modes for soloing/improvising, and even writing your own music! Our guitar instructors are some of the best in the business!

We have had nothing but an amazing experience with Greenwich Music. We have used their services for: purchasing music and various instruments, repair and maintenance of instruments, restringing and providing years of wonderful flute lessons with Andrew. His teaching took my daughter's flute playing to several years above her grade level. Joe, the owner, treats everyone as family and even hosts music recitals for the kids in the store. If he doesn't have something in the store, he quickly locates it and takes care of your request. As a regular customer for about a decade, I highly recommend them.

Been having intonation issues with my guitar for a while and GM did a fantastic job getting it recording ready again. Eric and Bill were so professional. Bill took the time to do the adjustment in front of me so I know what to do in the future. That shows a real passion for the craft and for service, not just trying to get you to come back in to make a buck.
Truth be told I got my first guitar here in 2006 and and they treated me with nothing but respect and professionalism when I was a beginner and now that I play professionally. I'll be back with more guitars.

Amazing shop to work with. Ordered an Epiphone from Greenwich, not the most expensive instrument. FedEx had issues with delivery. Despite this not being a high ticket item, Joe worked with me for over a week to make sure I was taken care of and the guitar was delivered. Great experience, great communication, and a great shop.

Purchased a Les Paul from them online, but it turned out it had already sold and the website hadn't updated. Joe, the owner, refunded me immediately and personally messaged me, and also offered to let me know when the next one arrived. Fast forward a couple weeks, and now I have my Les Paul with some extra goodies from the shop. 5/5 customer service! I will gladly continue to take my business here, even though I live all the way in Texas.

The Music Angel in the Pandemic. The pandemic just started. We left New York City to find space in Connecticut. Everything was closed and we were in a new town My son's cello string pops. What to do now when you need a cello string in a pinch. I called a number of places either no answer, we can't do it or we can do it for a big price. Businesses taking the opportunity to gouge at the onset did not sit right with me.
I left a voicemail at one store my last try. Next thing I know I receive a text from Joe at Greenwich Music asking for my address. He will have his distributor drop ship it to me. Done. No questions. Seamless. We can't wait to give Greenwich Music more business. They deserve it. Thank you Joe. You are a class act.

Voice (Singing) Lessons w/ Jennifer Thanks to the owner and his #2 a free trial lessons followed by a series of 6 custom 1:1 private at-the store singing lessons had me ready for a debut in no time at all. Special thanks to instructor Jennifer who was well prepared with lesson plans, homework and even 'finals' so I knew I'd be ready. Mission accomplished. And highly recommend. (FYI: the store actually has MANY) private rooms for lots of instructors/students - wide variety of instruments.

Awesome store and wonderful local resource. Recently had two guitars set up, and as usual, they finished the excellent work on a timely basis. Over the years they've worked on all of my guitars and they also quarterbacked the repair of my Marshall amplifier. In regards to purchases, have purchased several guitars and two amps. Much better experience than the big box stores and always fun to shop at Greenwich Music as there's almost always a gem of a guitar or amplifier available at a great price, new or used. Did I mention the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable? To have a great music store like this nearby is beyond valuable.

Great place for lessons. Owner is very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. The lessons are productive- the progress immediate. My son gets frustrated easily and wants to be a professional immediate. Their lessons enable him to play enough of relevant songs to provide pride while sneaking in the formal stuff which would typically lose him.

Our digital drum set - that we purchased from Greenwich Music - collapsed over time and use into a pile of parts and cables on the floor. I emailed a photo of the mess to Greenwich Music and they promptly got back to me and made a house call to repair the situation! Awesome! We're drumming again and we appreciate the customer service house call! Thank you Joe!

I was considering the purchase of a guitar for my grandsons birthday. I found the staff at Greenwich Music very helpful and courteous. They even offered a free lesson with the purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a musical instrument and/or music lessons. I did purchase a guitar, and his first"free" lesson is next week! Great place to shop.

I've purchased guitars from Greenwich Music, they've set-up guitars for me, and I take lessons regularly! They're an outstanding Taylor Guitar dealer and I find that they bring the advantages of the big box stores to their clients at the local level, with a personal touch and a friendly helpful attitude.

Guys at shop & teachers r nice but Kelly in charge of organizing music class.wow I never seen such horrible client service. She is rude, never her fault always clients, obnoxious, unorganized, super unfriendly & unhelpful. Loved my teacher but I'll never go back there. Every time I spoke with her.wow so upsetting. I can't believe someone like that can keep her job.
