Joyful Sound Piano Studio

Ms. Joy is simply the best. In April of 2021, I came across Joyful Sound Piano Studio through a Google search of piano lessons in my area. I gave her a call and my daughter started in May of 2021. Ms. Joy was professional but had such a fun since of humor that my 6-year-old quickly became comfortable and the lessons began. Ms. Joy gave recommendations for a keyboard that we were able to buy on Amazon to get started.

She encouraged 30 minutes of practice at home and a weekly 30-minute lesson virtually or in her studio. Using beginner books and kid-friendly techniques my daughter eagerly took off and now knows piano notes, understands beginner piano theory, has memorized songs that she eagerly and comfortably plays for family and friends, and so much more. Ms. Joy's skill, knowledge and expertise helped my daughter persevere and get a superior rating in theory and in her solo performances the very NEXT Year in March at the National Federation of Music Clubs conference.

My daughter earned an NFMC certificate from the state and federal levels. I have also witnessed many other students who have been with Ms. Joy for years doing exceptionally well - winning competitions and playing masterfully. During the May recital 2022, my daughter played 2 original songs by Ms. Joy - whom we also got to witness her beautiful piano playing. Ms.

Joy stresses that with a positive attitude, daily practice and weekly training with her, she can help to get students to their desired level. I look forward to seeing how far my daughter goes with hard work and the guidance of her outstanding classically trained, dedicated and trusted music teacher. My 9yo son started working with Ms. Joy in May 2021. Initially, he did not like piano because it required him to use a new set of skills. He also has trouble focusing for an extended time. Joy is patient, kind, and very encouraging. Now, my son looks forward to working with her. Most of all, I love Joy's gentle spirit.

Joy is an AMAZING instructor. I'm an busy adult with a few active travel lifestyle and tried her hardest to work with my schedule. May 19th, 2019, I was invited to s. Joy's amazing piano recital. I was so pleasantly surprised to what I experienced that day. I have been to many piano recitals in my past years and never have I saw an over head screen projector showing beautiful moving pictures as the students are playing their lovely pieces of music. The second surprise was when I saw Ms.

Joy going to the piano playing the most beautiful music I have ever heard. In the beginning of her program and at the end. The 3rd blessing of the day with Ms. Joy was when she passed out gold trophies and piano shaped cookies. Ms. Joy is one of the most humble and honest professionals I have ever met. I was greatly uplifted and encouraged to see the true love of God in the world of professional music.

Even though it's about an hour drive each way for piano lessons, we don't mind the drive, because Ms. Joy has been such a great contributor to our son's growth - musically, academically, and otherwise. Ms. Joy has played piano for over 25 years.

Mrs. Joy is a wonderful instructor. As an older student she is very knowledgeable and patient while working with the differences in learning between children and adults. I have been with her for about six months now and look forward to our sessions every week. Joy Gilmore w/ Joyful Sound Piano Studio is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a piano instructor. The lessons are structured to teach you ‘proper technique’ and tips for what works best for the individual student. I spoke to other piano instructors prior to committing to Ms. Gilmore. However, after one conversation I was certain I found the right instructor. Ms. Gilmore is very easy to work with and she also has a wide assortment of books/tools/exercises/games to assist with learning to play the piano. Great instructor. You will not be disappointed.
