Founded in 1988, McCutcheon Music has been the result of Jim and Debbie McCutcheon's desire to create a music store where families can come for personal attention, excellent service, quality products and teachers who are professional musicians and the sort of individuals who can help take the guesswork out of finding the right music teacher.
Jim and Debbie McCutcheon moved their family to the Centerville area in 1988, in part because of the excellent music program in the schools and also because of the area's commitment to the arts. Jim served on the Centerville Arts Commission for five years, and now works with the Arts Commission in hosting the annual GuitarFest in Stubbs Park. They have a musical float in Centerville's Americana Parade every year.
Originally housed at 18 East Franklin Street, we soon needed more space and in 1992, McCutcheon Music opened its doors at 42 and 44 Marco Lane in Washington Township. We later expanded to 34 and 38 Marco Lane in 2002 with a larger band, orchestra and guitar showroom and full-service repair shop.

We have been paying McCutcheon Music for a trumpet for about two years now I no longer play band so we don't need the trumpet anymore and we went in to return it and at first they couldn't even find our file and when they did they were very rude and short with us and it was completely unprofessional and we ask a few questions and they get very rude with us because they didn't have the answers 10/10 wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for an instrument or looking for any advice for your instruments.

Great store! They have a good selection of instruments and affordable monthly payments. They offer maintenance and repair, as well as instruments, music, and anything you'd need for your instrument. The employees have always been friendly and knowledgeable. We've been going here for years, and it's always a good experience.

Everyone is very friendly and willing to help you here. They also have a wide variety of good and services available to anyone. They also have quite an extensive teaching staff that offer private lessons in almost any instrument (including voice). Definitely check this place out for all of your music needs. The owner is a very gifted guitarist and musician and is known widely in the area!

Best music store ever! They never disappoint! I bought five guitars from them this week! Who does that? A guitaraholic! That's who. I just got a Kremona Rosa Luna and could not be more happy. I grew up with strats, Les Pauls, Martins and Ricks, but since my BFF plays nylon? I drank the kool ade and this bad boy is so expressive! f-get about it. I love it. Maybe a few fret dots could help as am too lazy to count frets.

What a great place! Replaced pads on daughter's flute timely and reasonably priced. A friendly & knowledgable gentleman helped us and explained the repairs that were performed. Flute was cleaned and in perfect playing condition in 4 days! The store has a good inventory of music and supplies and equipment for every instrument.

My son plays two different instruments that we rent from McCutcheon music and I couldn't be more pleased. My billing is always correct and the staff is most friendly. My son also takes two different private lessons and I am thrilled with his teachers. I do realize that the building is small, but you don't need a big building to sign up and rent instruments for your kids. In my opinion I believe that McCutcheon music is the place in town to go for music lessons and instruments. A very knowledgeable staff.

Our private lesson teacher said she trusts you for quality repairs, and we agree! As orchestra students at Stivers and DPYO members, our sons have gotten bows re-haired and a violin and viola repaired. Always an estimate given, and a friendly phone call when the work is complete. When friends ask where to go, we say "McCutcheon!"
