The Mukwonago String Academy offers both private and group string lessons. MSA bases their teaching methods on that of the Suzuki method in combination with methods similar to that of the Suzuki method, such as the teachings of Paul Rolland and Mimi Zwieg. The Mother Tongue Method is how music is taught at MSA. This method was founded by Schinichi Suzuki and incorporates early learning, listening to music, a loving and encouraging environment from the parent and teacher, constant repetition, learning with other children, and lastly, learning to read music.
The Mother Tongue Method can, in short, be described as the same way we learn to speak as a baby. Early listening, loving and encouraging environment, repetition, and reading. It is a very natural way to learn music.
We recently partnered up with Melk Music in Milwaukee for our instrument rentals.

Report
The Mukwonago String Academy is a well thriving music school and we work hard to bring quality musical education to our students ranging in ages 2 through adults. We present a curriculum that is age and ability appropriate in the form of weekly lessons, weekly group classes, and weekly theory classes. Students are expected to practice diligently on a daily basis at home, participate in recitals and performances, and come to masterclasses, lectures, and other special events. It is in attending and participating in these things that students will see the most growth in their musical abilities. Parent involvement is a very important part of the student's lessons and home practice. The instructors work with and involve the parent in the lessons and group classes to ensure they know how to help the student at home.
Summer Session
Report
Mukwonago String Academy's Summer Session is a great way for current students to continue advancing and for new students to get a jump start on an instrument before the beginning of the school year. The summer session includes everything that the school year semesters do but it's for a shorter length of time (9 weeks) .
