Learning to play the clarinet should be enjoyable. At the same time, to get the most enjoyment requires a level of commitment and personal discipline. Erin helps students develop the temperament for learning and making music well. Beauty and consistency of tone are the foundation of all good playing - learning to make a good sound is central to the work in lessons for students at all levels.

Erin has recently made Boston her new professional and teaching base. Erin has spent the past 4 years performing and teaching in Europe. Alongside her performing career, Erin developed a reputation as a high quality clarinet teacher. In Oxford (UK) her students had a 100% pass rate with national exams and her college students enjoyed much success with recitals. In the USA, she also developed a reputation as an excellent teacher both with her private practice and within the state school system.

Erin enjoys teaching so much that she took the decision not to perform full time, but to create a working life where she could continue to work with students as well. She is a versatile teacher who loves working with all ages and abilities, from beginner to advanced.
