Once described as having a "twinkle of light at the edge of [her] fingers", Jamie Bone has performed in venues all over the world including Italy, Germany, France, Austria, Japan and Brazil. She received her BM in Piano Performance from Oklahoma State University under the instruction of Thomas Lanners.
Every Winter and Spring, students can perform in our studio recitals. These recitals give the students a chance to showcase their accomplishments for the semester. Friends and family are invited to attend and hear the wonderful music performed by these students. In Spring, more experienced students will be selected to perform in a keyboard band (groups of 2-5 keyboards playing with drums and singers performing rock n' roll, blues, funk, pop, etc.)The Honors Auditions were created to allow any student to participate.
Your appointed weekly lesson time is your own financial responsibility and obligation. If you will be absent for a lesson, you are to give me at least 24 hours notice. Tuition is based on a 12-month period and divided into monthly payment installments. Tuition remains the same each month and is based on enrollment, not attendance.

Jamie was a wonderful piano instructor for both of our daughters. The oldest started when she was around five and the piano and music skills she learned with Jamie have stuck with her into her teen years. Because of Jamie, she knows so much about music theory and improvisation, which is so beneficial in all areas of music. Highly recommend.

Jamie is an incredible teacher to both adults and children alike. She has a remarkable method for teaching skills that is accessible and frankly makes for quick learning if you put in the work as she recommends. Highly recommend.

We have been with Jamie for almost seven years. Jamie has a dedication to her students development. Rather it be classical, modern, improv, blues. This studio meets your student were they are at and engages with fun and interactive learning to keep both student and families involved in the growth. If you are looking for place to build foundation, and help instill the love of music in youths, look no further.

Encourage all those who are looking to get started to reach out to schedule your meet and greet to see if Jamie Piano Studio is a good fit for you. Bonus information: Jamie Piano Studio offers many opportunities outside the studio to perform. Overall A++

My son took lessons from Jamie for a total of six years. He just recently quit as a high school sophomore due to work, sports, and school debate team. I was very sad to see him quit, because Jamie made piano fun and meaningful for him. He loved it, and he had worked his way up to a Level Eight status, which is far beyond anything I ever expected from him with piano.

I've never seen a piano teacher like Jamie. She teaches her students more than just how to play the piano. She teaches them music history, music appreciation, and music composition. She also encourages her students to perform in front of an audience. It's one thing just to sit in a room by yourself and play the piano, but it's a totally different thing to do it with adrenaline and butterflies as you play for an audience of strangers.

Every year Jamie takes the kids to downtown Lawrence to perform on a Saturday so they could get used to crowds. She also found other opportunities for the kids to perform outside of the typical annual piano recital. She encourages them to prepare for music competitions in front of judges. I saw my son's confidence in his playing ability grow by leaps and bounds because of these public performance opportunities.

She also encourages them to attend live performances by internationally renowned touring pianists. Jamie is passionate about seeing her students learn and improve and appreciate piano. We will always have a soft spot in our hearts for her.

My daughter has been taking piano lessons from Ms. Jamie for the past couple of years since she turned 4. The weekly piano lessons from Ms. Jamie have worked great in our case. Our daughter tells us on many occasions that she wishes that that day of the week was a Thursday since that's when she gets to go for piano lessons to learn one another song!

I am very much happy with the way she has started sight reading at the end of her second year of piano lessons (though still a beginner, for her age she seems to be doing a good job at it)! Ms Jamie offers a lot of performance opportunities and that's yet another feather to her cap! Studio classes that Ms. Jamie conducts every month is often very informative for the kids and our daughter just waits for the first Saturday of every month to be there for that monthly class!
