Our Academy is a community music school and New Jersey in-home music lesson provider. Lessons, available for young children, adolescents and adults, are tailored towards each student, either in the comfort and convenience of the student's home or at our school, within ourcomprehensive curriculum.
Our unique curriculum includes music theory, practical musicianship skills, such as sight reading and ear training, proper instrument techniques, classical, jazz, contemporary and popular repertoire - students will learn songs they want learn as well. Students will receive comprehensive music instruction from our experienced and educated instructors. Our instructors combine structure and flexibility which offers a great balance in education.
Our students can perform with our ensembles and bands, such as percussion ensembles and Rock Bands. These groups perform in our annual Winter Concerts and Spring Student Recitals which commence in Madison, NJ in an auditorium on stage.

We offer comprehensive private music lessons that are instructed within a curriculum that supports structure, balance and flexibility for our students. Instructional lessons and content are delivered through a curriculum which allows for each teacher to tailor instructional methods towards each student's abilities, individual musical interests and goals.
Learn music with Music Notes Academy's degreed music teachers. Music lessons for students of all ages, adults too. Students learn music on upright and baby grand pianos, acoustic drum sets, hand-hammered cymbals, amplifiers and pro-audio equipment. Comprehensive music instruction with a degreed teacher.
Music Notes Academy, a local music school, has locations in East Brunswick and Whitehouse Station, NJ. Whether attending in-person learning at our Academy or learning music online, Music Notes teachers are degreed and dedicated to teaching music. Learn music in-person at our Academy with a degreed music teacher.
Student Concerts in December are our Winter Concerts, our informal student performances. Winter Concerts began in '09. Students and parents can look forward to the Holidays with a Music Notes Academy performance, with students performing favorite Holiday songs. Student Concerts in June are our Spring Recitals, our formal end-of-the-school-year performances.
Music Notes Academy is a 2012 award-winning NJSBDC community music school. Brandon Kurzawa, B.M., M.Ed.
Founder, Director
Brandon Kurzawa has been teaching music, specializing in percussion, piano and guitar, since 1999. Mr. Kurzawa has successfully prepared students for Jazz Band auditions, NJ Regions and All-State Auditions, MEA piano evaluations, student recitals and performances, and has instructed percussion ensembles, rock bands and university master classes specializing in percussion. Brandon was an adjunct professor of music production and audio engineering from 2007 - 2009.
Brandon studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music, specializing in music performance, from Rutgers University and a Masters of Arts in Education, specializing in curriculum, instruction and computer education from University of Phoenix.

Our school district's percussion music program was not challenging our daughter to her full potential. We finally found Music Notes Academy and she has made leaps and bounds in reading music and speed while playing the drums. The sessions with Brandon are enjoyable, while challenging, and the flexibility in virtual lessons during COVID has allowed our daughter to play much more over the past six months.
Music Notes Academy has instilled a love for music in our daughter, so much that she picked up saxophone lessons with Elana nine months ago and is already playing beautifully. I would not have thought her progress in music would be so great in just one year. The prices are reasonable and worth every penny. Brandon was honest in what we needed when purchasing instruments, equipment and even worked with us to make the right decisions.
We've been to Guitar Center, School of Rock and had private in-home lessons but Music Notes Academy is by far better quality instructors and music material. Five stars all the way!

My daughter has been taking saxophone lessons at the East Brunswick academy for three years and our experience has always been a positive one. Brandon, the academy director, is always helpful and profesional. Likewise, Sean, my daughter's teacher, is always profesional, committed and insightful about my daughter's learning progress.

My son began piano lessons on his fourth birthday - before he could read words or music. Mr. Steve makes learning fun and has a special gift for motivating the youngest students. After nearly three years, my son has continued to challenge himself and accept direction and is quite an impressive young performer. I highly recommend Music Notes Academy!

My 8 year old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Ms. Stephanie at Music Notes in East Brunswick for over a year and absolutely loves her. Music Notes is a great place for young kids to start their music journey and develop a love for playing instruments. Ms. Stephanie makes learning piano extremely fun and is amazing with my daughter. I would recommend Music Notes and Ms Stephanie to anyone interested in learning to play piano.

We are very happy at our new home at Music Notes Academy for our 10 year old playing violin. Immediately after the trial lesson my daughter was enthused and identified what she was learning that had been missing at her previous place. Instruction is professional quality, well rounded, and suited to age and maturity. Our eldest son is at Juilliard so we have done a lot of music instruction over the years. We highly recommend Music Notes Academy.

Music Notes academy had really sparked my interest in music and especially piano in the past few years. I am now more interested in music in general and types of music on the piano. Mr. Sean a teacher at Music Notes academy is the best music teacher that I have ever had, and one of the best teachers that I have ever had including teachers inside and outside of school.
He has taught lots of things hand has taught me to love piano. Because of him I am now more interested in other instruments and have now started composing my own music. MAMTG and the recitals are things that I would not have done if I had not gone to Music Noted Academy. These are just some of the many reasons I love Music Notes academy
