I've been taking adult guitar class through LA School Of Music.com for 6 months and it's fantastic. If you're looking for personal instruction for yourself or your child, I recommend it. Due to Covid we've had class oudoors, indoors and on Zoom and it works just fine either way. However, summer in the park was nice and the indoor recording studio is pretty cool.
Our teacher Genna is friendly and supportive and class is small so she can teach to our level and tailor comments to our specific areas of improvement. My confidence in my playing is noticeably improved. Now i can pick up a guitar and I'm not totally embarrassed to play in a store or in front of others (thanks to my classmates). My chord transitions are smoother and my rhythm is better.
Plus I've learned how to create a solo rift which I didn't even think was possible as a beginner. We play different songs and new skills each session so it doesn't get boring. The other students are all nice and I get a lot out of working on assignments together. You don't feel so isolated. We share our bits of knowledge and cheer each other on. So glad I joined and I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons. If you're a shy player or need some structure to practice more, sign up. You'll get a lot out of taking class.
