I am offering private cello lessons. I have found that private one-on-one lesson allows students to progress at their own pace and attain the highest understanding of musical techniques. Students can start private lessons as young as 4 years old. I have been playing cello for 35 years. I have DMA in Pedagogy, and I studied at Moscow Conservatory and Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. Carroll County Times featured my cello studio on the front page of 2/14/2013 issue.

I highly recommend Maxim Kozlov for cello instruction or as an ensemble coach for children or adults. He is highly qualified, patient, encouraging and has an ability to engage young learners to work to the best of their abilities. Maxim is a dedicated instructor with a heart for teaching and he taught my child for 6 years. He not only taught him how to improve his ability on the cello, but helped him set goals, manage his practice time and motivated him to do his best. I have also had Maxim coach my adult piano trio and our group benefited immensely from his instruction.

We would recommend Maxim Kozlov to anyone looking for an exceptional private cello instructor. When we first met Maxim, our son was just entering the 6th grade and he is now a senior in high school. Under Maxim's study, our son competed in a national fine arts competion through our church, was (and still is) part of the Youth Orchestra and has participated in All-State Orchestra as a freshman, sophomore and junior.
We are confident that he will be participating as a senior as well. Only 20 cello students in the state are chosen for All-State based on their performance during the audition as well as their scores on the written test. Maxim was instumental in teaching our son all the various fingering and bowing techniques, vibrato, proper posture, professionalism as a player as well as teaching the different terminology required to succeed in the written test piece of the All-State audition. Maxim became part of our "family" over the years and he teaches with integrity and a wealth of knowledge...and as a side note, he is a phenomenal cellist!!!
