I have taught 500+ students over the past 30 years. I am passionate about drumming and I thoroughly enjoy sharing this skill with other people; kids and adults. Watching my students progress from one level to the next keeps me energized to continue teaching. Making friends with my students and their families is a priceless bonus. Many years of experience has afforded me the time to carefully organize systems that can be tailored for any student. Private Lessons

I offer private and group drum lessons in my Frederick, MD studio. It's comfortable and well-equipped with two complete drum sets. There is a PA for jamming along to music, and equipment for recording the lessons. Parents can hang out in the studio or in the adjoining room. Testimonials

Play-alongs

Great educational tool for learning many styles of music from easy to seriously challenging! In total, there are 320 tunes, each heard twice, once with drums and again without drums. Even though the compositions aren't Mozart, they are FREE, and are the next best thing to jamming with the band. Feel free to make up your own parts and improvise with the music.

Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio Gary R has been playing the drums for the past 40 years. As a teenager he worked with many of the local bands and artists around the DC area, and began teaching at the age of 18. After receiving a degree in Percussion at the University of Maryland, Gary continued building his career as a performer, teacher, and clinician.
