Before taking guitar lessons with Matt, I was quite good at playing stuff by ear. I knew the majority of all the types of chords and I was able to figure songs out and even make my own arrangements. When I started with Matt, the first thing he started teaching me was the ins and outs of music theory. I started to understand how music works and how I can transfer that knowledge to the guitar, becoming confident in playing new things because I knew how it worked and why it sounded good.

He really helped me expand my musical knowledge, thus expanding my skills on the acoustic guitar. I started to pick up the electric guitar and he showed me the different scales and modes I could use in improvisation, and when certain scales could work with specific chord progressions/keys. Learning these things really allowed me to enjoy playing guitar even more than I had before. Matt is very knowledgeable about music and the guitar, and is, of course, a very skilled guitarist.

He doesn't have a problem with patience if you're having trouble with something and wants to make sure you are comfortable with playing something and that you understand why it works. Really enjoyed the jam sessions, and how he gives and opportunity to play in a group setting as well. I preferred his in person lessons, but with the software he uses, online lessons were still beneficial and pretty much seamless after you got everything set up.

We are so fortunate to find Mrs Sherin as my daughter's piano teacher. My 5 years' daughter enjoys her piano lesson with Mrs Sherin so much. The piano lesson becomes a pleasant thing in her life. She understand music gradually as a very young kid and like to learn music theory and techniques from Mrs Sherin. Mrs Sherin prepare effective materials for the kids and also provide online learning resources for both kids and parents to review.

Mrs Sherin is not only a piano teacher, but also a friend to my kid. She is so patient to the small kids and inspiring small kids in her way. If you want to find a professional piano teacher with theory, technique, fun and friend atmosphere, Mrs Sherin is your right choice.

I am glad we found Matt and Sherin, they are both amazing teachers, very patient, dedicated and knowledgeable! My kids has been learning drum and piano with them for over a year since 2020. The pandemic year was hard for kids not being able to go out playing or traveling as usual, but fortunately Matt and Sherin brought Music into their daily life at the right time!

My children have been making steady progress and keep flourishing under their teaching and encouraging! They know how to connect with kids and help them understand difficult concepts in a simple way. Most of all, they not only teach them how to master techniques/skills but also inspire them to enjoy and appreciate music pieces throughout the lessons. I've taken guitar lessons from Matt for about 1.5 years and I highly recommend him. His lessons cover different aspects of guitar playing including covering songs, music theory and creative songwriting. He also offers various programs such as group classes, seminars and jam sessions with other students. His thorough knowledge of music theory and vast experience with different styles of music should be able to help individual needs of students at any playing level. I cannot thank him enough for all the songs I've learned how to play as well as dozens of original songs I've wrote with his help.

Matt is a fantastic musician, and an even better teacher. I took bass lessons for about 2 1/2 months and it was the best experience I've ever had. He has a passion for music, he is well versed on multiple instruments, and his teaching style worked extremely well for me. He is patient and flexible, and connects with all of his students. I had never attempted to learn an instrument so I was the lowest level of novice there is, and he taught me some music theory, how to tune my bass, and worked really hard with me on technique. I cannot say enough good things about him and I highly recommend him. Drums, guitar, or bass, he knows them all. You can't go wrong with Matt.

I've taken acoustic guitar lessons with Matt for a little over a year now. I was an absolute beginner with no previous guitar experience when I first began taking lessons. Matt was able to teach me how to play chords & melodies, how to read music, as well as demonstrate different playing techniques. Matt is a great teacher who is extremely patient with beginning guitar students. He is also very knowledgeable and passionate about music theory and it reflects in his teaching. He is friendly, personable, and an all-around great guy.

Ms. Sherin is a great teacher! She has great expertise in the art of playing the piano. Ms. Sherin also cares a lot about her students. During the time I was her student, I participated in the Arizona Study Program and earned the superior honor award each year. Since I am in high school, I am very busy and will have to drop my piano lessons. I hate to leave but I am glad that I have had a very pleasant experience learning from Miss Sherin.

My six-year-old started piano lessons with Miss Sherin 9 months ago and has made great progress. He just got superior honor for his ASP level 2 test last week. Miss Sherin is very encouraging and patient. She is not only teaching my son how to play piano correctly, but also helps him foster a love of music. She is there for my son for his every recital and answers all my questions promptly. My son is always excited about his piano lesson every week, because it is so much fun and has so much to learn. I would highly recommend her as anyone's piano teacher.

Ms. Sherin has been such an amazing piano teacher for my daughter. Ava has been with her for 3 years and has learned so much. Ms Sherin is so kind and has allot of patience. I would recommend using her!

My son has been taking electric bass lessons from Matt for a year and a half. My son had previously played piano and is comfortable with music theory and reading music. Matt has done a great job relating his previous music experience to learning electric bass. He's enjoys playing jazz and learning to improvise. He plays in the both school band and the extracurricular jazz band.

Thanks to Matt's guidance and instruction, my son was awarded band student of the year for the 2015-2016 school year. I highly recommend Matt for music lessons; he's been an excellent instructor for my son. He looks forward to his lesson every week!

My 11 year old son has been taking bass lessons from Matt for just over 6 months now and we could not be happier about finding him. One thing that really sticks out for me is that Matt teaches more than just how to play a song or a riff (which is what kids want to learn). Matt knows music theory and has an incredible way of incorporating this into his lessons.

My son will want to learn a certain song and Matt is able to teach him that song while introducing music theory based on what he is teaching which keeps my son engaged and interested. Matt is well versed in so many different genres and is adept at playing many different instruments, another huge plus. Matt has a wonderful, laid back demeanor and is always pleasant and professional.

I have been a drum student for a little over a year now. Before that , I was self taught. The amount I learned after I started with Matt's teaching far exceeded what I accomplished in several years of self-teaching and books. The best thing about the instruction is how Matt customizes for different goals and needs. Matt draws on many different teaching sources and techniques as well as personal experience.

The periods of instruction are very fun for me and no matter what we accomplished during the lesson, I am always thrown a new challenge at the end that I can work with and progress further. I will keep going as long as Matt teaches.

Matt is a wonderful teacher. He has been teaching my daughter guitar since she was 7 years old. She's stuck with it now for two years, which I'm told is very rare. He has a very easy way about him, which makes his students feel comfortable. I'm very pleased we found Matt. I have been taking piano lessons with Sherin for two years and overall it's been an extremely fulfilling experience. I've started off as a beginner, and she has been extremely patient while helping me achieve my musical goals. Sherin's enthusiasm for teaching is apparent and I feel like she really cares about my progress. I can be a little finicky about the pieces I want to play, and Sherin has always been a good sport about helping me select new pieces to my taste and within my ability.

During our lessons she places a strong emphasis on the fundamentals, stressing articulations and technique, while also intertwining musical theory so that I gain a deeper understanding of the music I am studying. If you are looking for a piano instructor, I highly recommend Sherin!
