The Boston School of Music Arts was established a highly experienced local music educator and performer with over 30 years of teaching and 35 years performance experience, and his wife, a performing artist and business professional for more than 35 years.
They are passionate about bringing high-quality music education, inspiration about music and music performance to as broad a population of children and adults as possible.
As a solo multi-instrumental instructor with a long waiting list, that mission became harder to achieve, so in 2010, they decided to expand, and opened The Boston School of Music Arts in the eclectic and diverse area of Dorchester's Lower Mills, right near the Milton border.
We offer private lessons in Voice, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Drums, Bass Guitar, Saxophone, Trumpet, Clarinet, Flute, Viola, Cello, Trombone, Accordion, and more, as well as ensemble and band classes, music theory, professional performance workshops all for beginners through professionals.
We use specialized materials customized to each students needs. Our teachers are experienced teachers, and in-demand performers, who LOVE to teach. They receive further support and teaching instruction from the Co-Founder/Music Programs Director. They are extensively background checked prior to employment, as we value the safety of our students.

Bands and Ensembles
Report
BSMA Music lessons, our students really get a solid music foundation. In addition to lessons, however, we recommend that private lessons students, at some point in their study, consider adding a band or ensemble group class along the way. Its a great way to improve confidence, make friends, and accelerate your progress.
Our bands and ensembles are by teacher recommendation, and Music Director approval or audition. From Baroque era music to Jazz to Funk or Rock, there's something for every taste. Some bands may write and record their own music as part of their assignment.

Linda and Julie are the beautiful faces of BSMA. They are extremely efficient. They readily tackle any questions or scheduling conflicts. The instructors are knowledgeable and always friendly. They do a wonderful job of tailoring lessons to meet students where they are. Last, but not least, Sharon and Yuri are talented and passionate musicians. They have set the goal of filling hearts with the power of music and are committed to seeing that goal through to fruition for all who enter the doors of BSMA.

I learned how to play piano and do vocals here! I have been going here for 5 years and I have never had a bad experience! The owners are very cautious about Covid-19,w hich is a good thing! The teachers here really teach you what your limits really are and help you achieve your goals! Would really recommend for anything from ages 6+!

I feel lucky to have found Yury, Sharon and the Boston School of Music Arts. I began my journey at the age of 4 with classical violin lessons. These gradually turned into guitar lessons at the age of 15. I have always had a deep passion for music, but never quite felt fulfilled from it. When I began to write my own music, I realized this was the best way to focus my energies, and the next logical step was to find a voice coach.
This led me to Yury, and we began a series of lessons. I soon realized I had stumbled upon more than a voice coach. Yury is my music mentor, he allows his students a chance to grow, and develop into artists in the most organic way possible. His knowledge of music, and skills on a plethora of instruments are unmatched. Couple this with the professional and warm-hearted nature of Sharon who runs the school, and I can't imagine why anyone would take lessons anywhere else.
I felt compelled to write this review and encourage anyone with an interest or desire to play music to come down to the Boston School of Music Arts and get involved in this awesome community of musicians.
