Our daughter has learned a lot in a very short time here and is learning to enjoy piano as well. So many good things to be said!

Nancy has helped our daughter choose which songs she wants to learn, so she feels a sense of ownership and passion in what she's learning. Our daughter has had the chance to try slightly ambitious songs that are just the right amount of difficult so she can grow. And in weekly lessons, Nancy repeatedly encourages her with praise and support.

Our daughter has also learned to practice her overall presentation skills by introducing herself during recitals in addition to just playing the songs. She is clearly thriving with piano and we are so grateful.

It has been a long time desire of mine to take piano lessons; this past January I began taking lessons in my home with Ms. Nancy. We began with Bastien’s “Piano for Adults “ and she added additional theory worksheets and charts.
She anticipated my apprehension at such challenging lessons in triads, inversions and pentascales by calming my nervousness with positive affirmations and strategies.
She is patient and gifted at honing in on my challenges and providing the instruction to correct and move forward. Each lesson always concludes with piano strategies for improvement. I appreciate her affability in partnering in my endeavor to play piano with confidence.
Her flexibility to provide lessons in my home or via zoom when I’m traveling has been beneficial in keeping up my instruction. The online lessons are just as informative as she provides additional screen views for me to learn from.
So how are the lessons going? Great! I have learned so much, gained confidence and look forward to learning more cords and playing new songs skillfully.

Ms. Nancy has been our daughter’s piano teacher since she was in kindergarten, and she just finished fifth grade. I’m sure my daughter’s stubbornness and laziness, and my disorganization, drive her crazy, but she does an amazing job and is so patient with us. We started with in-person lessons, which my daughter loved, then switched to online during the pandemic. We moved across the country and continue to do the online lessons, which work so well I recommend Ms. Nancy to local parents who want lessons for their kids (or themselves!). Under Ms.Nancy’s guidance our daughter has turned out to have musical abilities we never expected. She’s also become a confident performer from the recitals and workshops. Highly recommend Ms. Nancy, in person or online, and even if you’re starting with just a keyboard.

Ms. Nancy is a very organized, professional piano teacher, who clearly enjoys working with students and finding ways to engage. We have enjoyed her teaching our son, and are happy to recommend her.

I wasn't sure about the online lesson format, but Nancy really makes Zoom work. She has multiple camera views to help students see how to play. My son says that Nancy makes the lessons fun, and he likes that she lets him pick the music he wants to play. We couldn't be more pleased with his progress under Nancy's instruction and highly recommend her!

I can highly recommend Hegarty Piano Studio. I have taken piano lessons with Nancy Hegarty for 3 years, both in-person as well as via Zoom and found both delivery methods equally effective. Nancy is patient, encouraging, and very skilled at providing feedback and analyzing improvement opportunities. She runs her studio in a very professional manner, and offered her students recital opportunities in the past.
