We offer dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Preschool Dance and Parent and Tot. We offer private music instruction as well as group classes in piano, guitar, voice, violin , ukulele and drums. Our music lessons and dance classes are scheduled at a variety of times so that you can book classes at a time that works best for you. We are conveniently located in the Santa Teresa area, close to Blossom Hill, Almaden Valley, Evergreen, Willow Glen, Cambrian, and South San Jose. We look forward to serving all San Jose families as well as those in the neighboring communities of Morgan Hill, Campbell and Los Gatos. Services
Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance offers the following music lessons in the following instruments: piano, guitar, voice, violin, ukulele and drums. Our lessons are offered year round. Learning a musical instrument is an ongoing process that requires regular and continuous practice to maintain technique. We have found that lengthy breaks in instruction greatly slow down a student's progress and often lead to frustration and loss of interest. By providing instruction without seasonal breaks, our students show consistent and steady progress on their instrument.
Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance offers dance classes in the following styles: ballet, jazz, hip hop, and tap. In addition, we provide introduction to dance classes for preschoolers and kindergarteners as well as Parent and Tot classes for 2-3 year olds.

We have known Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance Directors Craig Lynch and Shirley Veloro (Craig's wife), for approximately four years now. During this time period, two of our sons have received piano instruction from Craig and violin instruction from Miss Cristy. It has been an absolutely wonderful experience for our boys and both of them have learned an immense amount about not only their respective instruments, but also about the responsibility that comes with taking music lessons.
They have also learned about key aspects of music appreciation and performance. Craig, Shirley and their wonderful staff are all VERY compassionate in their interactions with their students and families. In our case, we expressed that performance skills were less important to us as a family, as our one son has extreme anxiety issues and doesn't enjoy performance in front of large crowds.
We simply wanted a gentle and compassionate violin teacher who could help nurture a love of the instrument within him, rather than have him dread practicing or playing the violin. We are amazed every time he picks up his violin to play. It is such an accomplishment for a child like him and it has enhanced his self-esteem. As for our piano playing son, he started working with Craig in his mid-teens.
Even though his lessons had to stop due to preparation for college this past year, he still returns to play the piano on his own. Craig did such a wonderful job working with him and teaching him not only how to sight read, but also how to dissect a piece of music and put it all back together. We find our son going to the piano now, as a source of enjoyment and relaxation.
In our mind, that is absolute success when it comes to the question as to whether or not it was worth the financial investment and time commitment to giving our sons music lessons. We have seen Santa Teresa Academy of Music and Dance grow from it's very beginnings and now it truly is a hub of creative arts!!! Dancers, and musicians of all ages gather in this studio to creatively express themselves and it is such a positive vibe that Shirley and Craig have created. THANK YOU for the love of music that you have instilled within our children and also for the wonderful standard of music instruction that you provide to the San Jose community!!!

My daughter REALLY enjoyed her first dance class and been talking about it ever since. It was a double treat to see Mrs. Shirley again..(she was my daughter spanish kinder teacher) , she was then...and now have a great dance school and teacher....so awesome to see a refreshing dance studio that is organized, cleaned and have a wonderful teacher to go with it. Since my daughter started, I have seen her confidence get an extra boost. Thanks Santa Teresa Dance Academy...can't wait til the recital!!!

I really enjoy taking adult ballroom dance classes with Chuck. He explains and demonstrates the steps so that I can understand and follow him. He makes learning dance steps fun and his sense of humor makes dancing even more fun and not stressful. A great place to take dance classes with a 5-star dance instructor!

If you've ever thought about taking ballroom dance class lessons this is the place to be. Instructor Chuck Braswell, makes learning fun! His sense of humor helps to take the possible anxiety out of learning something new. He is a dedicated, has great patience and is a caring instructor who makes learning something new fun and easy! The owner, Shirley Valero, is friendly and welcoming & genuinely cares whether or not we have a good time. I really do like this studio!!
