As a parent, finding a piano school that values your child's intellectual and psychological development is crucial. The importance of music education in a child's life cannot be overstated, and finding a school that places emphasis on both musical and personal growth is essential. In this review, I'll be discussing my experience with the European Academy of Music and Arts (EAMA) that prioritizes these aspects of education.

Firstly, the teachers at this school are exceptional. They have a deep understanding of child development and are dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential. They are patient, kind, and knowledgeable, making them ideal for working with young children. Their teaching methods are tailored to each student's individual needs, ensuring that they receive a personalized education that suits their learning style.

Additionally, the school has a curriculum that focuses on developing the whole child. The teachers place an emphasis on not just musical education, but on developing critical thinking skills, emotional intelligence, and creativity. They teach students how to express themselves through music and encourage them to explore their creativity.

One aspect of the school that I particularly appreciate is their use of positive reinforcement. Instead of focusing on mistakes, the teachers highlight the student's strengths, which helps to build their confidence and motivation. The school's philosophy is that every student has something to offer, and it's their job to help each student find and develop their unique strengths.

The school also offers a variety of programs that cater to students of different ages and skill levels. Whether your child is a beginner or an advanced player, there's a program that will suit their needs. Additionally, the school provides international performance opportunities, which helps to build confidence and allows students to showcase their talents.

In terms of facilities, the school is well-equipped with pianos and classrooms. The classrooms are bright and welcoming, and there's plenty of space for students to move around and express themselves.

I have been a part of the European Academy of Music and Arts for almost 6 years now, and I can't thank Dr. Oster and Mr. Perez enough for the amazing opportunity they have provided me and my family. The school has enriched us in ways I never thought possible and has provided us with the ability to appreciate and understand music.

Growing up, I received a practical education that lacked any true dedication to the arts. The American educational system has only gotten worse, and I'm grateful to have found EAMA to supplement my children's education.

One of the most amazing part has been watching my younger children since they were 3 years old gravitate towards the piano while their older sister practiced, following her keystrokes and even correcting her at times. It's contagious, and I'm thrilled to see the passion forming.

I am so grateful to have experts like Dr. Oster and Mr. Perez available to help me navigate through the different versions of good, bad, and great performances and to identify the right music pieces and performers to study. The school's curriculum is fantastic, and my children get very excited about receiving new pieces to study. They act like they had just received a book of magic spells to explore.

Overall, I highly recommend the European Academy of Music and Arts to anyone looking to enrich themselves and their children with the beauty of music. The faculty and curriculum are top-notch, and the benefits are truly priceless.

EAMA is a true diamond in the rough of music schools in the DC-MD-VA area.

Our children have attended the European Academy of Music and Arts (EAMA) for almost 9 years. Not only is Dr. Oster an expert teacher of piano performance, she is also an expert in how piano performance along with the theory and history of music can support our children in all academic subjects while becoming productive members of society.

Our children work each day to obtain the goals set forth by Dr. Oster with us parents as their guide. There is no set time limit for the amount of practice but rather we work until the goal is reached, something that is very applicable to real life, every academic subject and career. Some days are less successful but we continue the next day to improve on the gains from the previous day. It is clear that neither of our children will be pianists and Dr. Oster does not train or educate them to do so. Our kids, specifically through Dr. Oster's teaching, are becoming life-long learners and strong students, developing their work ethic to support their educational journey while preparing for their career.

As parents, we also directly benefit from this integration of music study with academic study. We are not only learning how to teach our children to become effective, life-long learners but also how we as a family can continue to further develop our intellectual knowledge and grow together. Dr. Oster's teaching continues my own education in music, allowing me to effectively sit and help with my children's practice. This has been critical in learning early on what type of learner each of my children are and how best to support their academic initiatives going forward. I studied music myself throughout grade school and continue to have a lifelong interest in all types of music. I thought I was fairly knowledgeable and proficient in my understanding of reading and music performance but was surprised to really begin to understand the true breadth and depth that music and the associated history has even on modern non-classical music. I did not fully appreciate how music has developed over centuries and how relevant it is to my education and understanding of many academic, social subjects and even daily interactions in the workplace.

Our children and family have also benefited from an international cultural exposure and experience performing at highly recognized international concert halls throughout Europe. Examples of famous international concert halls where students at EAMA have performed include the Royal Albert Hall in the UK, Teatro Real in Madrid, Spain and the KKL Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland. Our children and students of EAMA have also performed at Carnegie Hall and other concert halls in the US. The publicly released videos posted to YouTube have elicited positive responses internationally wide from 15+ different countries. This exposure is excellent for building our children's resumes for College.

We are happy with our exposure to new cultural experiences, the results of our intensive study of music and I highly recommend considering Dr. Oster at EAMA for enriching your educational experiences through the deep study of music.

I have had a positive experience at the European Academy of Music and Arts. My child has attended this school for about four years and has gained a newfound appreciation for music. I am impressed with the quality of education and the level of performance that the students continue to achieve. The advanced piano performances by the students are well-recognized, and it's terrific to see many of the children perform at international venues.

Dr. Oster and Mr. Perez are exceptional music educators who are passionate about music and committed to using it as a medium to teach essential life skills such as hard work, perseverance, and setting high standards for oneself. Their dedication and expertise are reflected in the high level of musical proficiency that the students achieve.

Moreover, the parent group is very involved, and it's beautiful to see the kids grow together and support each other. Overall, I highly recommend the European Academy of Music and Arts to anyone looking for an exceptional music education for their child.

Dr. Bella Oster has been my two sons' piano teacher since they were 4 1/2 years old. My sons are now 7 and 8 years old. Dr. Oster has been a wonderful piano teacher. I also took piano lessons when I was young for 9 years. But Dr. Oster has taught my kids so much more than my own piano teacher in less than half the time. They can now play advanced pieces like Chopin's Nocturne in E Minor, Op. 72 No. 1 and Kabalevsky's Sonatina 1 Op. 13 No. 1.

She has a very effective teaching method that trains kids to have an analytical mind which helps them tackle difficult pieces more easily. She also provides the opportunity for her students to perform in major concert stages around the world. We had just come back from an Eastern European Concert tour in Prague, Krakow, and Budapest over the summer which her music school has organized. This was a wonderful experience for me and my kids.

We have been in Dr. Oster's school for about four years. My kids have grown tremendously every single year being with her. My 10 year old girl and 12 year old boy not only think of her as an excellent teacher, but as a mom that you can come to every week with your problems. As a parent I can also go to her for advice to grow my kids as a whole. The fact that Dr. Oster has a background in child psychology really helps.

She always has her way to bring out the uniqueness of each kid to encourage them not only to excel in piano play, but also other characters of success, such as commitment, strive for excellence, hard work, and dealing with frustration. This school provides a warm surrounding for my children. I really appreciate Dr. Oster and what she has found in my children. My kids and I are so glad to have her.

Dr Bella E. Oster is my daughter's piano teacher since she was 41/2 years old. She does not settle for less. Dr Oster has brought out the best in my daughter, and still is, in ways that I could not imagine. She has fostered in my daughter a great sense of focus, determination, and discipline. These qualities help my daughter succeed in her academic work and other activities she is engaged in. We are very grateful to Dr Oster!

Twelve years ago, when I was looking for a piano teacher for my three-year-old daughter, I was hoping to find a teacher who was competent, strict, knowledgeable, artistic, loving and understanding children and most importantly who had the passion for teaching. Later on, I realized that competency, knowledge, and dedication are not good enough to form an excellent educator. An outstanding teacher will provide you with a vision, shall be able to reveal a child’s potential, shall be capable of nurturing a child’s strength, and shall be willing to guide a child to utilize and enjoy his or her full potential.

We found those qualities in Dr. Oster. My daughter has been learning piano with Dr. Oster for twelve years. Throughout her years with Dr. Oster, she has been rewarded with confidence and self-discipline. We are very pleased to see that our little girl grew into a confident, well rounded young lady. Dr. Oster’s passion for music instills a life-long love of music in her students.

Her profound knowledge of music, especially piano music and history is astonishing. She is a strong believer in early childhood education and in particular, how professional music training in early childhood can fundamentally enhance a child’s development; she believes public performance is the crown for professional musicians. Therefore she exposed her students to various concerts performances.

Under Dr. Oster’s guidance, starting from four years old, my daughter has been to numerous esteemed venues to perform with a lot of memorial experiences. Those experiences tremendously enrich her young life. From a simple curtsy or bow, to how to smile, Dr. Oster has helped to shape boys and girls into young men and women.

Dr. Oster dedicates her career to groom young children to receive a well rounded music and art education. Under her guidance, students learn to perform piano, music theory and history and appreciate art in general. She believes in the endless potential of our children in instill in them the value of discipline and hardwork from the very young age. Many of her students as a result excel in music, academia and personal growth.
