Piano Lessons
Report
Our piano teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music. Whether you want to learn Bach or Alicia Keys, our teachers are happy to help you become the pianist you want to be. Our piano faculty will show you the fundamentals of sight reading, technique and theory, but they will also incorporate your favorite songs into your lessons. Watch this video to find out more about piano lessons.
Voice Lessons
Report
Our voice teachers primarily focus on popular music, theater, and classical music. If you have always wanted to be a better rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel or R&B singer, then we have the right voice teachers for you. Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, breath control, vibrato, tone production, enunciation and more. All voice students set goals with their teacher to work on sounding like their favorite recording artists, or if they prefer, to develop their own unique voice. Watch this video to learn more about voice lessons.
Guitar Lessons
Report
Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars. Beginner students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring CDs or their iPod to their lesson to learn their favorite tunes. Watch this video to learn more about our guitar lessons.

New York Musicians Center is a magnificent marvel, an extraordinary school of music where both our children were mentored by glorious masters. (Hat tip to the brilliant Viola of Marcus and phenomenal percussion of Casey.) It is a shining gem in Bellmore and testament to all a music school should be.

Such a good program and very popular in Bellmore and the surrounding area. The students have a choice between several instruments (incl voice) and schedules. Our piano teacher has been great and she knows how to keep her student(s) motivated - kids have input into their recital pieces, e.g. The school year ends with a recital at Adelphi - the space was beautiful and every performer was great. Would def recommend!

My son is new to the school. So far he's enjoying every class and always looking forward to his next drum lesson with Ms. Reid. She is very patient and always willing to bring the best out of him. If your child has special needs the school offers specialized teachers that can work closely with your child and accommodate his needs. I highly recommend.

Did not have a good experience with them at all. Nice people and a nice place, but totally unreliable. They canceled more sessions with our daughter, for one reason or another, than she had lessons. Make ups for missed lesson are unnecessarily complex and difficult to achieve. Very expensive and not worth the aggravation of the place, their flaky instructors, unreliable scheduling, and poor management. Go elsewhere.

The team at NYMC RVC location is out of this world! A beautiful space that every student can feel right at home in! Dr. Thomas has blown me away time and time again, and this is truly another show stopper. If you're on the fence about joining the NYMC family, take the plunge! You'll thank me later! 10/10

NYMC is an amazing place for learning to sing/playing the instrument. The environment is conducive and the staff, very friendly. My children have attended for over a year or even two. I have introduced some families who are also happy. And oh, they have massage chairs while you wait for your children ( we are looking forward to a covid free world to maximize the use of the massage chairs)

NYMC is the absolute best on Long Island. Lots of class options, tons of excellent teachers, but the high level of service makes the the best. They do red carpet events for kids, massage chairs for parents, and Carnegie Hall. Honestly, this is the best thing that Rockville Centre could have gotten in the neighborhood.

I was impressed the minute I walked into this establishment. You could tell that the students are the priority here. I have been to other schools that fit in lessons on the side of their instrument sales. Besides being extremely professional and following COVID safety precautions, the teacher my daughter had used extremely helpful techniques to support her learning. There is definitely room to grow and inspiration to be found amongst these talented and passionate professionals.

DO NOT BELIEVE THESE FAKE REVIEWS! I bought Two 30 min classes on Groupon. I took my 5 year old there for his first piano lesson. We were so excited go to. Piano Teacher NERICA's first instruction was to ask him to put his hands in the air. She noticed he was shy. From then on she didn't stop, she asked him "Are you shy?", "Are you always this shy?", "Come on, put your hands up, you don't have to be shy". "I need you to put your hands up." "All my other students don't act shy".
In a very impatient manner. She kept demanding him to put his hands in the air. I asked Ms. NERICA if she can try another exercise. She said no that's the first step. She says, "If he doesn't put his hands up, he's not ready to learn." At that moment, I can see my son getting super uncomfortable, self-conscious, and freezing up. Then she says to me, "Mommy, is he always this shy?" and turns to him and says, "This is not gonna work." Then she says, "Now look he won't even look at me, I need his hands up". "Mommy, help me put his hands up, he won't listen to me".
I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK! At this point, I had to stop her from belittling him. I said, "Of course he won't look at you, look at what you're saying to him. Why do you keep using (I spell out to shield my son from all this) S-H-Y word to him 10 times, look how you're making him feel!" I asked her why would you say to a 5 year old in first 10 minutes of meeting him "THIS IS NOT GONNA WORK".
She then apologized BUT it was too late, the damage was done. This teacher should NEVER be around children. Our whole lesson ended in 15 mins. Daniela (front desk manager) said how did it go? I told her I'll call her. I didn't want to further effect my son. I had to take my son out of there, tried talking to him, changing the subject to reverse the traumatic experience we just had.
In 15 mins, she belittled him, her ONLY teaching skill is demanding his hands in the air and nothing else to offer. HE NEVER EVEN GOT TO EXPERIENCE PRESSING ON A PIANO ON HIS FIRST PIANO LESSON! My kid had to take verbal abuse from this teacher at this school. It was such a terrible experience and traumatizing for me and my 5 year old. I RATE THIS PLACE ZERO!

This is my first negative review I've ever written on a place, check my account. I've owned multiple businesses for years and I know how hard owners work so that's the reason I wouldn't leave a negative review even if I had a bad experience. But this place did it for me. Teachers are unprofessional, they talk to your kids like they hate their job.
They have no patience and teaching experience and no credentials. Owner is a mystery. If you have a concern, the owner doesn't talk to you and NEVER present. You don't know who owns the place. It's run by STAFF ONLY. A manager that's extremely fake and condescending when you speak to her. Just call the desk and you can hear the fakeness.
Like I said, I'm a business-owner, if my businesses were run only by staff, you can just imagine what a disaster it'll be. Message to Owner: This is NOT an absentee business especially when you're dealing with children and parents!

School is going down hill. Everytime I bring my child in for lessons. The woman at the front desk always talks about her breast and butt job as if it's the time & place for it. Very skankish. Will not be keeping my son there. Would not reccomend to other parents. But Teachers are great. Should provide in home lessons.

Fantastic experience. From the first time that we walked in the school, we were treated wonderfully. We were given a tour and everything was explained. Our children love their teachers, who are very motivating, and practice longer than they are instructed. Now they are excited about performing in a recital.

My 5yr old daughter has been taking piano lessons here for 9 months. I couldn't be more pleased with how much she has progressed, the staff, and how it has did wonders for her confidence. The staff is always warm and accomodating. My daughter is very shy and will quit any activity if she doesn't feel comfortable with the instructor. This was surely not the case at NYMC. When its time for a lesson super motivated and keeps the same energy when playing at home.

My child always leaves her piano lessons with a smile. We transitioned to New York Musician's Center from a Sam Ash Music Store where we experienced subpar treatment. The teacher was inconsistent in communicating and often cancelled or changed lesson times on short notice. Our time with the New York Musician's Center has been the complete opposite of that.
The Center's administrators communicate regularly with the highest level of professionalism, are flexible to our needs and the teachers are punctual. Also, at the Center, the atmosphere is festive, positive and very family-oriented. Well worth the time and money!

As part of the staff here, I love all of the coworkers and the safe and comfortable environment I get to be apart of. There are many different lessons a student can take even when students have busy schedules. Even adults can take a class! Group classes are available for voice and piano, as well as individual private lessons. Also as a voice and piano coach here, I love the opportunity to work with all ages and lead the students in the direction of their goals. Keep this place in mind when you want to excel musically! There are plenty of tools available to all ages!

If you are searching for the perfect place for you or your child to take music lessons, look no more! The New York Musician's Center has it all. My son has been learning piano here and I am simply astounded by the results. I am so happy with the school that I am considering taking lessons there myself. They offer instruction for voice as well as an array of band and orchestra instruments.
The owner told me they would be starting a recording program too! This is really unique and not offered at any other school in the area as far as I know. To top it all off, the price for lessons is very reasonable, if not the best in the region. I highly recommend the New York Musician's Center.
