My name is Steve Burcheri and I've been teaching guitar in the Scranton/Clarks Summit area for over a decade. I have an easy going, results driven teaching style. Students can expect to learn the fundamentals of music as well as a variety of styles and techniques all based on each individual's needs and interests.
Owner/Instructor Steve Burcheri offers flexible scheduling, solid references, and competitive rates. If you're looking for a dedicated, experienced, and effective music teacher for you or your child please send me an email, text, or call me at (570)862-3111 for more info. Lessons available for Guitar, Bass, and Drums.
First of all, I don't actually go around calling myself GuitarSteve as there are a lot of guys named Steve who play a mean guitar themselves. Case in point: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Steve Vai, and Steve Cropper just to name a few. The name GuitarSteve is just a catchy name for a website, so there you go: GuitarSteve.com.
When I was a kid I would come to an ant hill, I would find a stick and stretch a rubber band from one end to the other and pluck it making music for the ants. If you always want to have a music gig then learn to play the bass. Funny, but true. Everyone seems to want to learn the guitar, drums, or piano but the bass is just as viable an instrument.
Well, we're off and running for the "Most Improved" contest for the fall which will run from October through the end of November. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize. Depending on the number of entries we'll have a second place prize as well. The whole point of this contest is to get everybody to practice and achieve great results.

Steve has been working with our son for over a year. He is patient, attentive and makes learning fun. Our son has gained great knowledge of guitar-from the chords to playing his own music independently. Having Steve come to our home and work around our schedule is a huge convenience. We highly recommend him.

Steve is an EXTREMELY patient, talented, and engaged guitar teacher. My son has been taking lessons from him for almost two years. He was six when he started and did not always have the best attention span, but Steve was always able to get him back on track. Now that he's almost 8, he really looks forward to guitar lessons and is learning a lot, but we would not have gotten this far without Steve's patience and ability to communicate so well. Also, although Steve seems incredibly relaxed, don't let that fool you - he is a knowledgable and talented musician and can teach a whole range of musical styles and instruments. Plus, he comes to the house and is very affordable. We highly recommend him!

Steve is a great guitar teacher. I'm 33 years old and have been playing for 17 years but really wanted to take my skill to the next level. He met me right where I was at in my skill level and I've been learning tons and seeing significant improvements in the few months I've been taking lessons. He's very likable and generous with his time-worth every penny.

My son and I started lessons with Steve at a slightly above beginner level. We have been taking guitar lessons for over four months and couldn't be happier with our choice. Not only is Steve a very knowledgeable instrumentalist, he is an excellent teacher. His prices are very affordable and he drives to your home! I would highly recommend Steve over any big name music facilities in the Scranton area.

I'd recommend Steve to anyone interested in learning to play guitar, bass, drums, or anything else he teaches. His approach is friendly and helpful and he is an extremely skilled player. I'm 33 years old and have been playing guitar for 17 years. Being self-taught, there are a lot of gaps in my understanding of the guitar and music in general.
I set out to learn better technique, understand some of the theory behind what I was learning, and simply become a better guitar player. In the four months I've been taking weekly lessons, I can see a significant difference in my ability and understanding. It's awesome having a teacher come right to my house, too. He's flexible, easy going, and a natural teacher.

My 5 year old daughter caught my attention while trying to figure out how a "toy" guitar should play. Steve came highly recommended from an employee at a popular music store, and when I contacted him he didn't hesitate to take on the challenge! Now my daughter and I are both taking lessons! I'm amazed at how much she's loving it, and progressing! He has the patience of a saint. Really.
I don't know how he does it, but I'm glad that he does! I've taken guitar lessons at a music center, and the in home experience is by far the better option! No packing your guitar and lugging it here and there - let Steve do that instead!; Lessons in the comfort of your own home - it doesn't get any better than that! If you want to learn how to play guitar - you won't find a better option than Guitar Steve. Don't waste time looking any further - he's the guy!
