My teaching philosophy is traditionally based---classical music is the foundation, the very core of both piano and vocal study. However, other genres are incorporated into the learning process....not only for technique, but for sheer enjoyment.It is extremely important to be consistent in attendance even if the student is not prepared. It is always better to attend the lesson and receive instruction for the following week. Practice is essential for the student to meet their maximum potential. A minimum of 25 to 30 minutes 5 days a week is required. If necessary, practice schedules can be discussed and altered on an individual basis.
Hunters' Music Studio gives two recitals each year where the students can showcase their talents. Students can also participate in the National Piano Ensemble, The National Piano Guild Auditions and Musical Events orchestrated by the National Teachers of Singing.

She was a woman of great courage, strength, beauty, compassion and integrity. She lived her life with passion and a joyous spirit. Elaine had a deep and meaningful relationship with the Lord, and lived her life according to his word. Music was a vital part of my Mothers' life. Her magnificent voice and teaching abilities were definitely a gift fom God, and she used these gifts to glorify him. I learned so much from watching and listening to my Mom. I attribute my success to both of my parents. To lose my Mother was to lose my best friend.

Laura Hunter
Laura Hunter, coloratura soprano, pianist, and accompanist is going into her 15th year of teaching voice and piano, as well as performing professionally throughout Arizona. Her students can be heard performing in all musical genres in venues around the world.....including Eger, Hungary, where she was invited to perform as well as establish a music program at Estherhazy, University. Miss Hunter began her early studies with her Mother, Elaine Hunter, and continued on to study at Grand Canyon University with Dr. Sheila Corley for voice and Dr. Judy Lively for piano. While attending GCU, Miss Hunter was honored to accept one of the most prestigious awards the academic community can bestow - selection to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Laura graduated from GCU receiveing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.

We have only been with Miss Laura for about a month but as of now our experience is wonderful. The way she interacts with my daughter who is 6 is perfect! She is teaching her piano and voice and I was a little hesitant putting my daughter into this at her age but I am extremely happy we found Hunters Music Studio. I am very with my choice

Laura Hunter is a wonderful teacher who specializes in both piano and vocal lessons. She has many years of experience and is very observant of her students abilities in singing and playing the piano. She knows how to make learning enjoyable and is also able to discern whether the material is too easy or too difficult for the student. She provides the right amount of challenge in her teaching that enables the student to stay motivated and interested.
She is always pleasant with her students and has a very positive upbeat personality that makes learning fun. She takes time to explain musical concepts properly so that her students will understand and grow. She is very perceptive and doesn't jump too far ahead or let anything go over your head. She is patient and works really well with children too.
She also has 1-2 concerts a year where her students are able to sing/play what they have learned in front of family and friends. I've had other teachers before and Laura is by far superior to the others. I took voice lessons from her and my voice has gotten so much better, I am happy with my results! I highly recommend her if you are looking for a voice or piano teacher for yourself or your children.

We've been with Hunter's Music Studio for over 7 years and we are very happy! My daughter started with just piano and now enjoys lessons in both piano and voice. Her little sister is looking forward to the day that she is old enough for lessons with Miss Laura, as well! She is very professional, knowledgeable and it is obvious that she loves what she does!
