With a soaring voice and a searing guitar - award-winning singer, songwriter,performer, and Elite Private Music instructor, Jim Steed has played to tens of thousands, appeared on platinum-selling recordings, sung on national commercials, scored short films, and has been featured on WRQX Mix 107.3 Radio in Washington, DC. Jim and Jack formed the Jack Diamond-Jim Steed Band in 1996 and continued very successfully until the end of their partnership in 2018. They opened for dozens of national acts as well as selling out local venues in the region. Jim is a veteran music teacher and performer, having taught hundreds of students over 33 years, as well as performing with Diamond Alley, as a solo performer, and with the Jim Steed Band. He has contributed dozens of free shows for causes he believes in around the Washington - Baltimore area and is one of the most in-demand session players and vocalists in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Although I’ve only worked with Jim for a few months, I feel like I’ve progressed greatly. He does a great job on honing in on the fundamentals. It’s difficult to figure out what’s really necessary considering how much material is online but Jim made that process very straight forward. He helped me grow as a musician rather than just as a guitarist. Jim is very knowledgeable and explains key concepts in small, digestible bites. Would recommend him to anyone looking to develop their guitar playing.
