The violin is the most popular instrument in its string family. With it high notes and enchanting melodies, the violin is an instrument of choice in many styles of music.
While traditionally a classical instrument in Western music, the violin has been adapted to many other styles of music. You'll find violin is popular in Country, Pop, Bluegrass, Celtic, Rock, and even Jazz.
Children as young as 3 years old can begin studying the violin with one of our Suzuki trained teachers.

Viola Lessons

The viola is a stringed instrument, very similar to the violin although bigger and with a slightly lower range. Just like the violin, it is held between the musicians's chin and shoulder.
Although underrated, the viola is quite beautiful with its robust and warm tone, lending itself to both solo and ensemble music like the violin and cello.
Children can start viola at the age of 5 or 6. Lessons are perfect for students playing in an orchestra, or anyone who wishes to study it for personal enjoyment. Lessons will be personalized to match your goals and needs as a student.

We are big fans of Sam! Both my boys love taking lessons from him. One takes piano and the other violin. He has a great balance between fun and discipline. Lessons are very age appropriate and I love how he teaches not just music, but the proper positions (how to stand, sit, bow etc). And this is especially important because I have two very active boys! I also appreciate that they offer early afternoon time slots since we are a homeschooling family.

The instructor (Ms. Emma) is super friendly and provides great feedback. Although it's my daughter's first guitar lessons she felt at ease and comfortable upfront. She always ends on a positive note and makes her day brighter. It's as if Addyson leaves skipping with an extra beat in her step. Thank you for having a wonderful impact on her.

Highlands Music Academy is top notch. My first experience with them was during the start of the pandemic. My middle child was able to start lessons and continue online still to this day. He is excelling at guitar with his fantastic teacher Beto. My youngest child has recently started to go in for his piano lessons and is thrilled with his teacher Ms. Emma ( as well as me.) My oldest has shown interest in voice lessons and we are now starting this week with a newly hired teacher. What I have to say is that the selection of instruments being taught are amazing. I highly recommend lessons from here.

I took guitar lessons here for about a year and could not have asked for a better place to learn. They are professional, flexible, and friendly. I am most impressed with how they know how to personalize lessons to meet the needs/learning style of each student regardless of age and ability. I highly recommend checking them out.

My daughter has been taking flute lessons for almost 2 years here. They also do just about any other musical instrument and voice too. The owner is a very nice lady. The faculty are a lovely, effective group of people. Because of the lessons, my child was recognized by her band teacher (in public school) by being chosen for All County Elementary band in addition to other concerts. This school also has two "informal" concerts per year. I highly recommend this music school.
