Richard Lissemore is an internationally acclaimed voice teacher and performance coach who is equally adept at teaching vocal technique and performance for classical as well as non-classical contemporary styles such as musical theater, rock, pop, R & B, and jazz. His myriad students perform on Broadway, at Carnegie Hall, at New York 's Radio City Music Hall, in both American and International touring productions and in theaters throughout the world.He has worked extensively with recording artists from many of the top record labels in the United States.

My teaching philosophy is based on the premise that students of singing must be allowed to explore and discover the individual, instinctive experience of their own voice. The ultimate goal would be to become fully integrated as actors who sing very well, who embrace their individual vocal flaws, who seek to achieve excellence but do not pursue perfection, and who insist on serving the dramatic progression of the song at all times. Voice training for actors must be taught in a way that incorporates the technical, musical and dramatic demands at all steps of training.

Richard has helped me keep my voice in tip-top condition to match the grueling, eight-show-a-week schedule. His knowledge reaches beyond the Broadway or Classical realm as well. Whatever style of music you sing, Richard is the teacher for the Universal voice! I was recovering from vocal surgery when Richard was recommended to me by my vocal therapist and my ENT.

Richard frequently presents masterclasses and workshops throughout the world for everyone from talented teens to conservatory students and advanced professionals.
