There are so many wonderful reasons to learn music and art. Having the skill to perform a music instrument has been one of the most cherished accomplishments throughout history. Once you learn an instrument, that skill stays with you the rest of your life. There is nothing like the joy of performing music for your grandparents, parents, and other family and friends.
Children that learn music at a very young age continue to participate in middle school orchestras and bands. As adults, most students choose to join bands and create music.

Some of the teachers are really bad. The worst one is vocal teacher Lyutsina Kazachenko. This happened some time ago. I bought a trial class with her. She asked my kids to sing a song to see how they were. They had never sung in front of others. She laughed loudly and said my kids were too bad at this. She told me since I couldn't get a refund and she would just talk a little to pass the time.
I had never met anyone so ignorant and obnoxious. My son cried after the "class" and said he hated singing. One piano teacher, when I was out, asked my kids to do things that were not related to piano lesson for half of the time. I have to say that some of the teachers are okay. If you really want your kids to take lessons here, do a trial class to see how the teacher is.
And the best is to stay there and watch during the class. Because some of them are not ethical and not professional. They are just simply rude and lazy. Good luck finding a good teacher for your kids.

Horrible experience! My kids class changed to late evening due to teachers schedule change. I stepped outside the school to pick up something and they have locked the door at 8 pm when the class is supposed to end at 8.15 pm and the school closes at 9 pm. I waited for 10 mins, called their front desk number multiple times, texted them, unfortunately I didn't have the teachers number who is super nice and great teacher, my child is young and does not have a phone.
When I started banging on the door this woman comes who I later find is a teacher named MARINA. The woman was rude, inappropriate and horrible. Instead of hearing me that the school door is locked and I have been waiting to pick my child, she yells and says there is no student here making me more worried, tells me to "be quiet" when I try to explain this situation, starts saying that she does not care, it's not her problem and there is no reception and that she is going to call the police! Which teacher threatens the parent who is worried and is trying to pick their child when the school locks their front door and nobody responds to phone and text?

No show to appt and very rude. Set up appt for trial cello lesson for my daughter. Confirmed to meet on Tuesday at 5PM, drove to Saratoga Ave studio during rush hour traffic to make it on time. The teacher was a no-show. I called the number that I had been in contact with and texted. I got no response, waited 10 minutes and left. It is Friday afternoon and I have still received no response, not sorry, no excuses, nothing.
Complete ghosting by the contact which is the contact number listed on their site 408-359-8577. 1. Unprofessional 2. Inconsiderate 3. Disappointment to my daughter who was really looking forward to starting to play cello. 4. I was prepared to sign up for ongoing lessons on the spot. But this behavior has certainly deterred me from doing so. Bad form guys :

Took piano lessons at this place about 10 years ago. Instructor never attempted to teach me how to read music and just told me where to put my fingers. Didn't realize how terrible these lessons were because I was still a child. absolute waste of my time and I feel extremely sorry for my parents that had to pay for the lessons.

I really love this school! I have been coming here for about a year and training with Olga Hanley and she has brought so much happiness to my life. Learning an instrument adds to a person's self esteem tremendously and I feel with each song that I learn I add value to my self worth. She is a classically trained, very talented pianist and above all patient. and the results are well worth everything a student puts into their learning.
I would recommend her to anyone interested in learning the piano and the school to anyone interested in expanding their musical / artistic horizons. I am so grateful to have found this place! I only wish I had started sooner!

Terrible billing and tuition policy, I would give negative score if I could. I tried to drop the class from June in May since my kid would be traveling during June and July. But they denied and said it was too late - I had to request before 15th. So I still payed for June in full. Therefore I could only to select to quit from July. And due to my kid is not able to attend, I submit the online form to cancel the classes for June(their cancel form is for temporary absent).
Later I realized they also charged me for July too. So I called them and been heard I could not have the make up classes for June. Since I already chose to quit. Now I confused, previously they said I could not quit, and now tell me no class since I'm already quit?

Music and Art institutions are considered to be divine and learning these skills help build character, improve concentration and make good decisions, Not in this place. My 6 year old daughter went to this "Music school" and we had a terrible Day 1 experience. A teacher was assigned to my daughter and right from the first minute she showed the lack of patience to teach kids.
She was in a rush from the beginning and her attitude wasn't pleasant. I sat patiently with my daughter and wanted to take her away because of the rude and unpleasant behaviour of this teacher. At the end of the 30 minute class, The teacher asked why we chose her to which i replied "We didn't choose you, you were assigned to us and i didn't knew you were uncomfortable teaching kids". My daughter was on the brink of breaking down. When we reached home we decided to discontinue.

A comprehensive place where you can get quality music education for all ages. They have multiple instructors for piano, violin, flute, clarinet, drums, cello and saxophone. This place offers mostly Western classical music teaching although they do have some Indian style as well. I go there for violin lessons and have been impressed with the quality.
They also have art classes and the whole place is decorated with art works of their students. It's a fairly huge place and had about 20 plus classrooms with comfortable ambience. It's located in the same lot as Costco and trader Joe's in Almaden valley on the corner of blossom Hill and Almaden expressway. This particular place is located in the same building as bed bath and beyond.
You just need to get to the centre courtyard and it's located in the SE corner. They do offer trial lessons and sometimes discount them. So please make sure to ask. They go by monthly billing with no commitments.

I just had a very disappointing experience there. I stop by to ask information about classes and summer camp and the lady in the reception was very rude and told me there was no summer camp even though I saw info about summer camp in one of the websites. If the receptionist is that bad I just can imagine the teachers.

I was evaluating this school for my son's piano lessons but ended up joining myself. My son is very Young and I needed to try out some lessons before committing and the school worked with me through the process of trying out multiple teachers, who were all fantastic in their own league, but I was looking for a non traditional learning for my son. So though we decided it's not the right time for my son to start here, I myself ended up joining one of the teachers who we tried out and liked.
He is Mr. Matthew. As a teacher he had understood my goals and my expectations and is challenging me accordingly. I really like the class. The school's management was very involved and took lot of effort to understand my and my son's requirements and constantly followed up on the experience as a new student. This is rare to see but reflects the passion of the management towards music and towards customer service. I would recommend this highly. I also love the arts program of schools which I have walked by often and seen the amazing paintings that Young students make there.

We have been here since 2016 and my daughter loves her piano and art teacher. However, the reason i gave them one star is bc of scheduling issues. Theres always someone different in the front desk and they don't seem to know what the heck is going on. I never know how many classes or what classes i am being charged for bc the receipt just shows the amount.
The schedules in the front doesn't match up with the teacher's schedule, so when we show up, teacher isn't there or vise versa. It is very frustrating, just seems so unorganized. As much as we love the teachers, we are taking a break from this place for now. Too many hiccups with scheduling and payments.

My son attends guitar lessons at Almaden School of Music & Art. I must say I have been extremely pleased with the experiences. The teachers have been really kind, caring and seem honestly devoted to helping young students learn and progress. He is extremely shy and the staff have encouraged but never "pushed or forced" him to perform in front of others. They understand his need to play for his own satisfaction. I applaud Almaden School of Music & Art for its commitment to their students.

So, it has been probably more than a year since I rated this terrible music school. I thought things would be improved from the front desk receptionist to the instructors. Unfortunately, it's gotten worst and now I am pulling my girls out for GOOD. I really hate dealing with a receptionist name "Irina". Her face is always very unpleasant and sadly her face is the first thing that you will see as soon as you got up to second floor because she represents almaden school of music, "how sad is that?". Then, there's always this one particular staff, don't know her name but her voice is sooo.annoying and you would hear her speaking in her language super loud. She'd only be conversing with her own people that speak same "Russian" language with her.
My older daughter's violin teacher, Korien(spelling) is unmotivated and hardly provides "recitals" opportunities, wth? I thought main purpose of taking music lesson so you can be given opportunities for recitals to see how you are doing. But after FOUR freakin years with him, my daughter got one stinky recital, unbelievable! On the other hand, my younger piano teacher, ms. Violeta provided my younger one with 2 awesome recitals and she has been with ms. Violeta for less than 8 months.
That tells you the owner of this music school is only interested in the money you pay in every month and he/she does not care whatever his/her employees are teaching their students or having recitals or not. I would Not recommend this place at all!

First step through the door and you are welcomed by the amazing artwork displayed on the walls. It's so incredible to see all of the talented artists! I love how their artwork gets acknowledge and recognized by their teachers. This place is amazing! It makes me want to be a kid and take art and music lessons. The front desk receptionists are so nice and easy to talk to.
They went out of their way to help me find the right class for my nieces! There are so many amazing and gifted teachers at this school. All with a passion to teach and inspire youngs to love music. What a great mission and vision this school has! Definitely come by with your little ones and check it out. They offer different art classes from ages 4+ and music and singing classes as well. Those tends to vary based on teachers and schedules but don't worry there are plenty to choose from!

Our daughter wanted to learn Drums & this being the closest to our home we brought our 5yr old here. We were all excited to meet the instructor who almost scorned at her. kept saying. a girl interested in drums, usually i don't come across girls its boys who are keen on drums. girls are mostly into piano. OK can we give a try out. so we paid $45 for the intro class next week. he absolutely did not know how to interact with kids, came across to us like he was not interested in teaching her.
My daughter came home & said I will never go back there again. That teacher is very rude, what ever happened to customer service in this music place. Like you don't care.
