Thank you for visiting. I am Gari Stein, the author of The More We Get Together, developer of Sing With Me and the How to Sing and Dance series. I have been singing and dancing with young children and their families since 1966. I have seen the joy that music brings to young children, how it enhances their sense of self, positively affects their behavior and strengthens their comfort in a social setting. I'm the founder and director of Music for Little Folks in Ann Arbor Michigan, a music school for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and the grown-ups who love them.

There's so much more going on in the studio than music making. You don't just come to a class and then leave. Snack and chat and instrument exploration make it a very special time. Parenting concerns are supported with articles, conversation and families sharing. You will be equipped with simple activities to take home and enjoy together over and over.
Exactly what is included? Materials include everything needed to equip the non-musician to seasoned singer to provide a rich musical environment, everyday, all year long, with effective teaching tools developing lifelong skills in a foundation of fun. More than lesson plans, Sing With Me addresses the adult's comfort level and provides support, information, direction, demonstration, instruction and guidance.
Gari Stein, in her presentation "Rock-A-Bye Babies: Music and Movement for Infants to 3s" demonstrated a calm and stimulating program. Her many examples of simple songs with appropriate movement modeled varied ways to rock, sway, bounce and dance with music. One of the most impressive elements in Gari's working with the class was her use of silence.
