The Amarillo Symphony artistically serves a region of 25,000 square miles and beyond. Since 1924, the Symphony has been committed to providing art, fostering education, and encouraging people from all walks of life to experience the power of music. The Amarillo Symphony was founded in 1924 as a 12-piece ensemble led by Miss Grace Hamilton. Now in its 98th season, the Amarillo Symphony is currently in the final auditions for our 18th Music Director and Conductor.
The Amarillo Symphony Guild seeks to support and augment the programs of the Symphony in the development of its orchestra and to educate and stimulate appreciation of music in the community. The Guild held its first meeting in May of 1955 with Mrs. George Hammock as the presiding President. Since its inception, this arts auxiliary continues to raise awareness and the necessary funds to expand the Symphony's reach into our community.
The Amarillo Symphony is proud to present our 99th season - we are only one season away from our much-anticipated centennial celebration! We are so excited to continue our nearly century-long tradition of spreading music throughout the Panhandle. This season we present powerful symphonies, exciting soloists, a collaboration with Amarillo Master Chorale, and thrilling concertos of Beethoven, Mozart, and Rachmaninoff - it's a season you won't want to miss!
We take great pride in investing in future musicians, music lovers, and the places in which they live. Whether through our Youth Orchestra, Class Act program, educational concerts, the Greater Southwest Music Festival, or in cultivating educational and community partnerships, we always seek to "inspire, educate, and unite our region through the power of music."

My husband and I paid for 2020-2021 season tickets at the beginning of March 2020. Since then, the symphony has been postponing their concert season through the year. We have asked for a refund multiple times and have always been given an excuse or outright told no. We were told at one point, the tickets we purchased were for NEXT YEARS concert season!
I can't believe that they keep giving so much bs. All we wanted was a refund, which we still have not received. And we have only been able to speak to someone about 10% of the time and only a few times have our messages been returned. DO NOT purchase season tickets unless you don't care if they don't provide the concerts you paid for ahead of time.

Going to the symphony is one of my favorite things to do, and the Amarillo Symphony does a spectacular job every time. The performances are flawless. The conductor is so excited about each piece, and that is infectious! I LOVE listening to, and watching each musician create their art, and the absolutely beautiful voices of the singers are so wonderful. Tonight’s production of Beethoven’s 9th was AMAZING! I’ve never heard Ode to Joy performed so beautifully.
