We at the Tidewater Music Teachers Forum would like to publicly thank you for all the hard work and dedication you have provided for our Play-A Thons. It is an honor to work with such a fine retail organization. I've planned a lot of weddings in my career, but this was my first couple to desire a piano for their outdoor ceremony. Scott with Piano Showcase was such a pleasure to work with and made the entire process as streamlined as possible for us. He secured a company to move the piano and tune it once on site.
Services
Grand pianos come in various sizes from the smallest baby grand (around 4'7) to full size concert grand pianos. The larger the piano is, the longer the string will be giving the piano a deeper, richer tone and more resonance. The best soundboards are made of solid spruce (sound is easily transferred through the grain of the wood). You will need to have your grand piano tuned about once per year. All of our pianos are regularly tuned and checked by certified piano technicians.
Digital pianos: are electronic musical instruments, often built to look like pianos, that electronically reproduce authentic piano sounds. Digital pianos have no hammers, strings, or soundboard; instead they have electronics and speakers. Digital pianos never need to be tuned, can include different instrument sounds, rhythms, recording capabilities, and can be used with headphones so you may practice without anybody else hearing you. Digital pianos are much easier to move, but do not hold their resale value like acoustic pianos.

Can't say enough great things about Scott and the folks at Piano Showcase!. We traded in our old spinet for a 70s Baldwin Model R and could not be more pleased! The piano is in great condition and sounds fantastic; especially for its age. The technicians they use are also very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely recommend checking them out!

This place is easy to find, located on the lower level of Greenbrier Mall. It was the only place I could find locally who sold Kawai pianos. Scott, the owner, is very nice and a fun person to deal with. He is not pushy at all and able to provide info as requested. We came in looking for a digital piano and couldn't be happier with our purchase.
He has a decent inventory to include things like uprights, grand pianos, new or used, and other instruments and musical necessities (books, etc.). The prices were competitive and delivery was cheaper than other piano stores I've shopped at. We are getting our piano delivered about 3 business days after buying it! Overall, we would definitely recommend giving this place a chance if you're in the market for a piano or digital piano, or other instrument for that matter.

I have been shopping here for several years. I have been taking keyboard lessons and have probably bought 30 music books (some of which were special ordered for me). I have purchased 2 ukuleles and really like both. Scott always goes above and beyond to offer good customer service! I am happy to be part of the Piano Showcase family. Because that is how you are treated!

I have been associated with Piano Showcase for a while now and have purchased 2 pianos, as well as taking piano lessons there. They're main product line is Kawai, for pianos, but have a very nice selection of used pianos which can range from Baldwin, Yamaha, and at the time of this writing, a Steinway. They also offer guitars, as well as most other music instruments and materials you may find in other music stores, but their real strength is in their people. Scott, the owner, is just a great person, as well as a piano player himself!
Quite honestly, I haven't met anyone, from his staff, teachers, even the piano tuners that don't make you feel at home while you're there. If you're looking for a music instrument, lessons or something else, stop by the store and have a look around. They will give you as much, or as little, help as you want in selecting what you are looking for. They are very knowledgable in all the products they carry. If you're like me, you'll be happy that you did!
