Steilberg String Instruments

Dropped a dobro off here to have a minor repair done, and was going to have them put a new set of strings on it while they had it. I was told it would take an estimated half hour of labor, and would cost $83. Seemed steep, but I thought they'd do a good job, so I went ahead with it. When I asked when it would be ready to pickup, I was told it would be a few days before they could get to it, but they'd take good care of it. 5 or 6 weeks go by, no word from Steilberg, so I give them a call and they let me know that they "forgot about it." Professional. 2 more weeks go by, no word from Steilberg, so I decided I've had enough, and just go pick it up. Surprise surprise, NOTHING has been done, so they give me my dobro, and I go on my way. No apology for not getting to it, forgetting about it, nothing. Absolutely pathetic.

The staff is very knowledgeable and Jim is a first-rate luthier; he's worked on several of my guitars. This store is amazing! They have everything from used gear to premium acoustics to instructional books to accessories and more. The staff is highly knowledgeable about their products and it is very interesting and entertaining listening to all the facts they know. I recently bought a Furch (Stonebridge) guitar here and it was a great experience. Friendly staff, easy transaction, and a memory I won't forget! I took my sister from out of town there today with her children. They wanted to buy a ukulele. They got a very nice soprano ukulele. Mr Steilberg was great and let the kids try out several other instruments. The kids learned a lot and enjoyed themselves! I highly recommend this shop.
