Since 1985 we have played a significant role in developing music retail and education in western Wisconsin, southeast Minnesota, and northeast Iowa.
SSE Music is proud to serve dozens of school districts in western Wisconsin and neighboring Minnesota counties. We work closely with your school's music director to make sure your child gets the instrument that is the best fit for a successful and fun school music experience! We offer monthly rental contracts at competitive rates for most band and orchestra instruments and inexpensive entry-level plans for students just starting out in a school band or orchestra program.We're also proud to provide professional maintenance and repair services for any instrument with our in-store repair facilities.
We are proud to provide the highest-quality repair services with our in-house facilities and skilled technicians. Not only do we service what we sell, many area schools, churches and various local venues trust us with the care of their instruments and equipment. Repair estimates on band and stringed instruments are always FREE!
Our Sound and Light division rents systems small and large, for any size event or venue! If your event is large enough, we can provide knowledgeable sound and lighting technicians to set up, tear down, and run everything. We also sell speakers, mixers, lights, power conditioners, monitors, and anything else you need to create your perfect system!

Lady working was rude and basically accused me and my grandson of miss use of saxophone. Be there was a inspection done on it. We were informed our trombone would be ready for pickup by my grandsons band instructor. Tomah middle school. He will be without a instrument for three days this week. Older gentlemen was friendly.

If you're a stringed instrument player, go there and see Tom B to get a setup on your axe. He's really good. He takes careful measurements, keeps good records, and will give you a quick tune-up in the following days if you need it, free of charge. So he clearly stands by his work. Can't ask for more than that.

Very fair selection for all band related needs. Came in for picks before a show and ended up walking out with a few spare sets of strings due to their very fair pricing. Guitar selection was decent enough, with only a few brands and models in store but all are well taken care of. For casual gear I'd say this place is an absolute must. For the bigger stuff you may wanna shop around.
It's also worth noting they have an expert guitar tech on site willing to repair your axes or install mods to save yourself the immense pressure of tinkering with your prized instrument.

I have only been here a couple times over the last 10 years. Each time, the staff were very friendly and helpful. I only play guitar, so of course Dave's is my number one. SSE did not have the high end guitars. However, I bought a back up acoustic here and got a great deal. Plus, it's handy to the northern La Crosse area when you need supplies. I have nothing bad to say about the place.
