Teaching music is ALL we do isn't empty talk, it's our business philosophy. The instructors at TMS are full-time, experienced musician/educators, not part-timers, enhancing their careers with a few music students to provide "mad money". We conduct ourselves as professionals, not as "a teaching gig while we sell our band". Our one objective is true dedication to our students' success. We are successful when our students enter adulthood as thoughtful, creative and ethical citizens with good musical experiences from their childhood.
Services
To do anything well, some intuitive knowledge of the material at hand is required; this intuition is called talent. However, talent alone, without knowledge and hard facts is not enough. Talent does not need to be described; the facts do need to be set forth and that is the purpose of formal instruction.
Private music instruction is a year round commitment and I discourage students playing only during the school year. My best students want to come play music and take advantage the opportunities offered to a rehearsed student musician. I always encourage "noodling" on their instrument. It's called improvisation and it reinforces what they've learned.
