There's always something going on at Live Music Center, whether you want to learn how to sing or play an instrument, hone your skills, connect with other musicians or enjoy a recital. We've helped Vacaville area musicians for more than 30 years!
Services
Live Music Center has been serving Solano County's musical needs since 1987. Locally family owned and operated since the beginning, we have always been musically minded people first, who care immensely about our students, customers, and community around us. We strive to maintain a warm and welcoming environment, where musicians of all levels can grow and thrive, learning both from their instructors as well as each other. You'll always be greeted by our friendly desk staff when you walk through the door, who are eager to help you find what you're looking for that day.
At Live Music Center, you'll find the high quality musical instrument you want, at a price you'll be happy with. Whether you're just getting started in music or advancing your skills, we have everything you need. Plus, our staff doesn't work on commission so there's no pressure or up-selling. It's just about finding the perfect instrument for you or your child.
Looking for a new or fully reconditioned musical instrument to rent? Live Music Center has them all. We offer a special four-month "trial period" rental program-you get a discount off the normal monthly rental rate for the first four-month contract. At the end of that contract, rent is month-to-month and you have the option to return your instrument at any time without a cancellation or return fee. There's no obligation to purchase your musical instrument, however there is an optional Rent-to-Own program.
Live Music Center contracts with professional instructors who can help any student learn and thrive, including beginners, college level and even conservatory-bound-seven days a week. All students have performance opportunities at least twice a year in our fall and spring recitals. 30-minute private lessons are available every afternoon through closing daily, however, some morning classes are available.

I called to make a trial violin lesson for my daughter. I first spoke to Chris who began taking information for her to take the lesson. He said he needed to call back while he filled some information out, because it would take a while. I thought that was interesting, since I had given him all my information over the phone and he put it in. When I got a call back it was another person, Robert.
He proceeded to tell me that maybe Chris didn't give me all the information. That there is a registration fee, I asked if this was even for an trial, being that we are not committing yet to becoming a student, rather seeing if the instructor would be a good fit. He said yes. I find this odd, I have never been to a place where you pay a registration fee before you become a member.
I feel like it was a way to insure extra money. Really tacky. I decided not to go with them, because of this. Not that 20 dollars will break me, but I feel it lacks ethics, and makes me question the way we would be treated in the future. Too bad they lost a possible regularly paying customer, and that registration fee. I would have gladly paid it once we became a fully committed student, not a person taking a trial lesson.
I would also like to add that I was going to pay for the lesson. It was not a free lesson or anything. Plus they were going to take payment over the phone, which I was going to do. Not even wait for lesson day, lol!

Terrible customer service from a guy named Chris. May very well be the most insecure musician I've ever met. Fast track him to Julliard before he implodes. I mean this guy had a vein popping out his neck ready for any little thing he could correct me on. Been playing for 16 years. but this guy chris?, he was clearly God's gift to earth and all musicians LOL. I think he was trying to impress my WIFE lol. When we left we both had a good laugh about Chris

My kids, 10 and 16, have learned so much from Megan Tucker over their years of lessons with her. She is so knowledgable and really makes lessons fun for the kids. You know that she really cares about your children which means so much! I always recommend this studio to all my friends who are considering lessons for themselves or their children. We LOVE Live Music Studio!

My kids have taken lessons elsewhere in the past with teachers and methods they didn't love, and therefore they didn't love playing and learning musi. We've been coming to Live Music for about 4 years now and they love it. They are eager to learn and try new things musically on their own. The teachers meet the students where they are. They aren't rigid in teaching one way or one style of music, but start with what interests their students.
For my kids that's meant not battling them to practice and they have still learned so much about music theory and playing. I recommend Live Music to any of my friends looking for music lessons.

Great first experience. I would definitely recommend this place. I had no idea what I was doing and decided on a whim to purchase a guitar for my husband's birthday. The woman on the phone took what little information I had and gave me the perfect recommendation immediately, as it turns out. When I arrived I was greeted warmly and walked through my purchase in a way that did not make me feel bad for being clueless which was fantastic. Employees were helpful, knowledgeable, comfortable, and good humored. Please support this business. They have a lot to offer. If I was staying in the area I would definitely pursue their instrument rentals and lesson offerings.

I turned my son's instrument in for repairs 3 1/2 weeks ago and was told it wouldn't be more than 3 weeks (which is already along time to wait). They hadn't called me yet so I placed a call to them only to find out that it's still not repaired and can't give me a time that it will be done. Instead they referred me to a repair shop in Woodland (which is a couple of towns over and out of my way) if I wanted it repaired faster. Why make me wait for 3 1/2 weeks with no phone call to follow up and tell me what's going on? I will never take another instrument to this place for repair.

The staff at Live Music Center always greet you with relaxed enthusiasm. For years I wanted to learn to play the violin. Finally for Christmas last year I bought a violin and started taking lessons. They took the time to discuss the various violins they had, the differences between them, and how they relate to my musical experiences and asperations, to make sure I could make an informed decision. Bryn makes my lessons fun.
He is passionate, patient and a wealth of knowledge. I am learning more about music theory now then I ever did in all my years of piano lessons as a child. He also does a great job of catering my lessons to the music style I am interested in. Thank you Bryn and the staff of Live Music Center who embrace my new passion and make learning a new instrument exciting, interesting, and fun.

The people and the programs at LMC are truly amazing. My daughter began with vocal and guitar lessons at age 10, and has progressed on to their youth Rock Sessions, where she has formed extremely close bonds with great kids and absolutely loves performing as a band. I don't think you could find a better music experience! Megan is an awesome instructor and is so great with kids of all ages. Watching the teen rock bands perform is so much fun and such a special experience. We love LMC!

The staff and commitment to customer service are what sets Live Music apart IMO. They're super knowledgeable and willing to spend the time with you to help pick out the right instrument for you. I've nothing but excellent interactions with the staff members I have spoken with, and from what I hear they are some excellent teachers as well. Highly recommended.

I went to the music center to purchase an instrument for my daughter. There was a lot to choose from and I found a clarinet at literally 1/4 the price of another store in Fairfield. On top of that, they gave me a military discount. Thank you! There is a sitting area with some coloring pages and games for kids who are waiting.which was extremely helpful considering I have little ones with curious hands! The girl at the checkout was very sweet and helpful. I would definitely check this place out before considering others.

I come in here all the time, chat with people in here, and act goofy. The people here are knowledgeable and yet still chill and relaxed. They let me play my instruments in the back whenever I want to. Plus, they hired me to work as a piano and cello teacher, so I'm looking forward to being part of the staff in January. Yay!

Yesterday, we went into the store because my 10 year old daughter wanted to try out a few instruments. The staff was amazing. They were friendly, knowledgeable and they worked extremely well as a team. The selection was fantastic, they had so many options. They were organized and despite being super busy, they handled it efficiently and perfectly. It was fun, quick and an easy process. I highly recommend The Music Center!

The best place to go if you're just starting playing music or have been for your whole lifetime, or even if you're just simply a fellow lover of music. They have everything from instruments, lessons, books, etc. (Price) Their prices are very reasonable and they do buy back depending on the condition, what the item is, etc. (Service) Their service have always been 5 stars, nothing bad comes to mind at all.
